The Big ol' Xbox 3rd Party Releases Discussion Thread (HiFi, SoT, Pentiment, Grounded) (Part 1)

Instead of “I’m not so sure now” he has to use the word “fake”, which just sets shit on fire. I hate it, I hate the entire “insider” gamer, it’s a garbage dump.

Well, if Xboxera got dragged then every other insider should get dragged as well especially if they try to save their asses with the term “consider” or back paddling with “information is outdated”.

At the time the information could be real and everything changed because of the backlash.

They still need the consoles to sell and subs to increase thats why I would be disappointed in them just focusing in “just” talks about what is multiplat and what no. Would be cool to se the mobile plans for example.

And here is Nate walking back his walk back, making it clear he wasn’t referring to us or anything we reported.

I don’t think they ever would but can you imagine if Xbox did sue for defamation?

Technically they could:

The laws of defamation seek to protect a company from false allegations that damage or lower their reputation either as spoken word (slander) or in a written format (libel)

I think it would make people think twice about spouting nonsense online.

3rd parties making Xbox hardware? Huh?

Sony and Nintendo would do it because they respect their brand and customers

Late af responding, but definitely. Xbox communication and marketing is just pretty horrendous in general, but all of the outrage isn’t entirely on them, although their history plays a role. There was a lot of FUD being thrown around and I didn’t personally think everything was going to be going third party. Also, regardless of what happens, some of the reactions (Timdog being a prime example) are unwarranted and would never be acceptable.

For me personally, I think regardless of what the end result is, Xbox is worse off, in the public eye, than they were before all these rumors started. They’re going to have lost a lot of trust with the Xbox diehards, people are going to be side-eyeing everything they say (more than they already do), and there’s going to be endless questions now about (when) will each of their games come to Playstation/Nintendo.

I wasn’t aware this year’s CoD is Insider Warfare.

It is going to be a long weekend and you already had comments in articles on N4G that had to be closed, because of giddy PS only fans thinking about Xbox being finished.

The good thing I do think Microsoft has heard Xbox gamers complaints and it won’t be the end of the Xbox brand as reported.

Who knows maybe there will be a Xbox Series X Pro that will be announced one that is discless and one with a disc drive.

Agreed :+1:.

It will be interesting to see what Xbox say/do to try and squash some of this. The worst thing they could do right now is skirt around the situation.

LOL shit is wild, more twist and turns. What ever happen next week? I’m Ready. All this rumors and shit really gonna exposed some people. Some good stuff did come out of all theses rumors though. The crazy fanboys that said Fuck Xbox, sold their console, destroy their consoles, post death threats and manifestos. I hope all them clowns don’t come running back. The fan base will be better all for it if all them clowns go elsewhere and infect the other fan base with their childish crap.

Entirely bored with journalists arguing over their own proposed rumours…

Could you imagine any other industry acting like this lmao.

Agreed. No matter what their plan is, they need to come out and just flat out say it like it is. Even if it really is on a “case-by-case basis,” I genuinely don’t think they can say that because that just leaves everything open for interpretation. I think they could say something like “consideration for smaller, niche games,” or something along those lines that has the same meaning of “case-by-case basis,” but they have to be clear as to what games are going to receive consideration. If they leave it open-ended, then they leave themselves up to speculation about anything and everything.

It’s going to be an Xbox communication, so it might be a lot to ask, but I want to have a little bit of faith that they can at least be clear and not (again) screw the pooch on their messaging.
