It’s very easy to say no XBox In-House game is coming out on the PS5, other than COD.
This is the same Xbox who responding to 343 leaving Halo?
Admittedly, I am probably switching to PC + Nintendo’s console at some point this year, soon-ish even as I may be buying Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PC instead. Though not because I am mad over this lol, because I don’t think it affects anything whatsoever. Just feels like consoles are starting to get weighed down with “idiot taxes” for me, like games being more expensive than on PC for no reason and paid online still being a thing.
No I’m not selling my Xbox lol and will use it for GP stuff and cases where PC ports suck which is still kinda common unfortunately lol.

I’d like to add that Xbox has people far smarter, with access to far more data than the fanboys do… they know what they’re doing and “case by case basis” means some games will be coming to Switch/PS5.
Some of you can deny reality all you want but clearly Sony is doing the same thing (verifiable fact, not debatable - and last I checked Bungie wasn’t MLB ffs). The industry is changing and you can still foster an ecosystem while expanding beyond at the same time. There will be exclusives and multiplats from both (last time I checked, my track record was nearly perfect so I’m happy to take any and all bets). Again, Sony agrees here.
Seeing the same reality-defying arguments tells me those people don’t want to actually have a discussion and just want to scream/foment discord… there are plenty of other places that will entertain that nonsense, not us. Also… since when was GP not an inherent advantage? I know quite a few families who are only able to game the way they do because of GP. To say I’m disappointed in some of the absurd, entitled tantrums would be an understatement. Would love to see this kind of energy for something that actually matters… or is actually detrimental.

Honestly, considering your gaming tastes, I’m surprised Xbox was ever your main console. I’m sure you’ve explained it at some point though. I think lot more people are going to be going this route what with Handheld gaming PC’s becoming a new, hot and relatively affordable industry.

I can’t say I expected any different, those titles going multiplat wasn’t really something I expected, it’s other people and endless speculation that will bring the potential damage

I will say that it has been suggested to me from very trusted, proven sources that Microsoft has been exploring bringing some of its back catalog to other platforms, although some of the details remain vague and unconfirmed. We’ve reached out to Microsoft to comment and clarify its position on this stuff

Maybe we’re seeing a game pass sub on other platforms that only contain older Xbox titles like FH only up to FH4? Via cloud streaming.

If this happens and they start putting more games on more platforms I’d like a good reason for it. I don’t think it’s the “end of the console” but I’d be real curious as to the WHY. Reality is that we’ve just seen reports of how Sony knows that their model is “outdated” and are looking to start copying Xbox’s.
I won’t pretend to know what the future holds, I just wish that gaming discourse wasn’t so full of extremes. A rumor comes out and it’s a weekend full of meltdowns and arguments with people who haven’t posted here in a year jumping in to say “xbox ded” while others (lesser in number) go “you can’t talk about this!”.
I don’t want an echo chamber, but I don’t want a place that breeds toxicity so easily either. I wish I had a solution to it all, other than to just say “relax, it’s still only video games. We can talk about it like adults”.

Yeah, it seems things are changing. At first it was just some games that already are on the platforms such as TESO that will stay there, and basically the other games will be where Game Pass is as well. So did Nintendo and/or Sony agree to having Game Pass on their platforms? Which I doubt very much, especially Sony since they have their own service. Or did MS change their stance and will they indeed start bringing older games to Nintendo and Sony outside of Game Pass? And like you said, why? They got ABK now, and all these other studios, they are in a great position. Why “give” your games to the competition? Nintendo with some smaller games I get, Sony? Absolutely not. I’m still hoping they solely mean Nintendo with that.
But I’m sure we’ll find out sometime this year.

I would love official 360 emulation for various platforms. The current unofficial 360 emulation leaves a lot to be desired and much like the OG Xbox, I don’t think there’s a ton of interest for it in the emulation scene.
I would be 100% ok with all of this if Sony ported Gravity Rush 1 and 2 to Xbox (and Switch.) After all the game never found an audience on PS4, may as well let more people play. Plus I could get rid of my Pro at last since that’s the only reason I still have it at the moment. Throw in Bloodborne while their at it.

Gravity Rush was an absolutely stellar series, a great showcase for the Vita hardware, and the remaster for the PS4 was spectacular. Love the second as well, and will never forget how that studio’s closure meant the loss of some incredible creativity.

Yeah I happened to download both games on Sale on PSN. Fell in love with it! And Yeah Japan Studio were basically the soul of Playstation. Once they decided they only care about sad dad games and shuttered them they def lost something special.

If it’s only on Switch, let alone true, those who said third party games that is exclusive to PS because it doesn’t touch Xbox would have to go with the same flow.
I hope eventually the Xbox community and gaming comunity can stop freaking out over rumors like this.
After ABK completed you guys should realize Xbox is in great shape and MS is fully backing it now. Its really time to just chill the fuck out and enjoy the great games coming soon.
