Xbox has positioned themselves to be the default console in future versions. Nobody will match their output. Some random games on Switch or PS won’t change that.

Be happy about the future of Xbox. It ain’t going anywhere.

Some of the reactions (not all fans of course) to this i can’t help but feel has been way over the top and borderline dramatic. If this is how some fans react to this then i dread to see their reaction when Microsoft/Xbox actually does something bad. Can’t help but feel things like posting previous Spencer quotes on twitter is almost encouraging Xbox fans to just go harass the likes of him on twitter

Maybe it’s a part of their business plan or maybe it’s a genuine favour to the staff at Tango who knows. This is the downside to insiders as usual. I thought they were re assessing leaks and stuff after what happened with Insomniac but i guess that’s not the case

This is the issue with XBox and the PR. Either come out and say what game is coming out and on what system or say it’s not happening at all.

The silence over this is worse than Hi-Fi coming to Switch which is most prob the case

We shouldn’t expect anybody from Microsoft to answer this until it happens. I feel it’s unfair to expect them to respond to a rumour because that sets a dangerous precedent of expecting them to respond to every rumor. If this leak is true, then people should expect to hear from Microsoft’s side

I think one of the most important things to learn in life is to embrace change. Nothing is ever going to stay the same. This level of consternation over something you have no control over isn’t healthy.

Play your game wherever you want in the best way the suits you. If what MS does or does not decide to do doesn’t suit you, go wherever does.

But most importantly, wait to something actually happens before having feelings about it.

The other part of this that is baffling to me, having listened to the whole podcast in question, is that he said far more encouraging things about the future of Xbox than this innocuous nugget. Things that people should be legitimately excited about.

But they are all caught up on one title, that wasn’t even named, maybe being on switch.

“the silence over this”. Xbox has been back from holiday break for what, a day or two at most? It’s a rumor on a random podcast and the weekend. What are you talking about? Also, don’t appreciate the “of course you would say that”. I’m not disagreeing with people who are confused by it if it happens. I’m upset at the immediate, constant hyperbole that mf’ers in this community jump to at the drop of a hat.

I do feel some are a little emotional on both sides, i feel like im getting tripped up by people who think im dooming, which is wild since im usually on the other side telling doomers to calm down.

Nah soon as they respond to one rumour they’ll have to respond to every single one otherwise people will just say it must be true because they denied this one rumour and not this so it has to be true.

A lot of it is people feel caught up when the extremists are replied to. There is a solid, nuanced conversation to have here but it’s tough when so many posts are “this is essentially confirmed and it’s going to destroy the brand/console” etc.

I also confirmed with some sources separately over the holiday period that games like Hellblade 2, Avowed, and The Elder Scrolls VI are still slated to be Xbox console exclusive, after the initial rumor mill around moving towards platform agnosticity swirled.
