Go to the publisher and ask for the games and get told no for 3 years and then maybe get the game after they’ve run off all other revenue avenues.
Timdog claimed to have a disgruntled employee source who said Xbox was considering not launching Call of Duty on game pass and that game pass was proving “unsustainable”, but Timdog ultimately speculated that game pass would continue with ads. There was also a user on neogaf who reported that Xbox would be scaling back from day one gamepass releases but as other have posted they have been wrong on a bunch of stuff Xbox related in the past.
All in all, some rumbling that Xbox may scale back their gamepass plans, but not from any credible sources.

It’s good to see that people are at least aware. There is absolutely nothing good at all about a Sony dominated market. But the ponies don’t care. Big price increase for games? They were like “kay”.
What he’s saying here about other companies following their example, yup, afraid of that too. Oh man the future sounds fantastic.

Ironically, the one game that is intended to help their industry is Destiny 2, a multiplatform game. They even relying on their next game to carry them further. Now that it’s struggling, they have to cut the staff and studios as well as funding (Deviation whom they don’t own). Next week will be their earning call, so I expect some ups (console sale) and downs.

FF7 remake sold almost nothing on PC though, so I don’t think it always works that way.
If someone is switching right now honestly it means they didn’t really care about Xbox games. You might end up having more choice on the other platform because of this, but who really has enough time and money to buy all MS games and all Sony games and play all of that at the same time plus 3rd parties. Getting everything a year ahead on Xbox and for cheaper due to Gamepass is still a better deal.
There is also no guarantee right now that everything will be releasing elsewhere. It could still be only select titles as MS wants to keep Xbox relevant so you’ll never know if you get the games you want or not.
I honestly don’t even see a reason for buying a PS5 even if all MS games went there, it would bring me nothing extra to be honest; it’d actually cost me more in the long term.
If I get ads on Game Pass games I’d cancel that shit so fast it’s not even funny. Same if they stop with day one releases of first party games.
Shitty rumours aside, Game Pass is the one thing they’ll have moving forward so it would surprise me if they messed with it. It would however be interesting to see the Herculean goal post moving some people here would attempt in defense of such moves.

If there is an acquisition I would think more of something like Take Two given the longevity of a GTA game and the number of monthly active players it brings to your ecosystem
If we look at Microsoft’s acquisitions are based on games with very long longevity and player attraction
- Minecraft
- World of Warcraft
- The Elder Scrolls
GTA is missing
GTA V is one of the most streamed games on Twitch and one of the most played games on XBOX with Minecraft, Call of Duty, Fortnite and there is also NBA2K
GTA VI would be a factory in MAU
Take Two also owns Zynga which would create 2 mobile publishers for their future mobile store.

I should make clear that part was speculation, my point of including it was to demonstrate that even someone who claimed to have an inside source on the future of game pass still expected game pass to continue. Which is to say even at worst there is no indication gamepass is going anywhere.
