They will be day and date on PC because their current strategy is doing terribly for them.

Let’s not get too dismissive of people y’all, not a good look. At least for me, If MS wants to go third party/or partially do it, be my guess, they do what they want to do. I just want them to stop being vague and tell us directly of what their plans will. Maybe they will or not, time will tell. I just have issues with their communication, not their plans. What I’m trying to say is that I want them to do better at communicating to their costumers, and if you ask, yes I did look at Phil statements, the court cases etc. My two cents and I’m done with this topic.

I just think there aren’t hard up rules to communicate and that they truly mean it when they say case by case basis.

They’re not being vague, nothing has actually happened. We know it’s a “case by case basis” from the court case. That might mean a little it might mean a lot, in the end we get it all on game pass day one. Expect their games to show up where Game Pass is and occasionally they might be elsewhere. It’s really not hard unless you refuse to believe what they’ve already said.

what do you think case by case basis means lol? there are no hard rules or guidelines on what they decide to release on other platforms. :person_shrugging:

I agree with that. But sadly that’s not how it works.

My only issue is if Hi-Fi Rush going to Switch where the hell are the Xbox One & Xbox One X ports? I personally think MS is using Hi-Fi Rush to set a standard in Japan that Xbox-owned Studios in Japan will still support the switch. So when Sega is purchased there is already a standard set. I’m cool with that but if they go to PS I might have to stop being a whale and start buying every 3rd patty title on Steam instead of Xbox and just buy GamePass from CDKeys instead of leaving it on autopay. It’s just a principal with Sony with that fuckery they did during the case and trying to put Xbox out of business nothing other than Minecraft, Call of Duty, and Overwatch should go over there besides the thing already supported like Fallout 76, ESO

Case by case to me is a vague term, I guess I just want expanded explanation about it, but I digress. Not here to make arguments anymore, just want to share my point of view, like I said I’m done now( for real this time lol) I’m gonna go outside and touch grass like some of y’all said, it’s a beautiful day.

Yes. Intentionally so lol. Thats exactly what makes it case-by-case.

Decisions can be made as circumstances dictate.

I get what you’re trying to say, but case by case literally means each game will get looked at and a decision will be made based on the game and current situation. I don’t think there are any hard, concrete rules for any game or game type because situations can and will change year by year.

If you’re looking for them to spell things out clearly and concisely and then stick to it going forward, you’re out of luck, because they never will. That’s just how I see it.

I think about how Granblue Versus Rising and Granblue Relink – two extremely big games comnig from one of the biggest IPs in Japan, are entirely skipping Xbox and then I realize the reasons why are not necessarily exclusive to Cygames or Arc System Works aside from the mobile game cross promo stuff.

It sucks, but again, it’s just not worth the effort for them. If an asian developer can find success fighting for that 15% market share in teh Switch versus giving it a fair shot on the MS platform, then that’s just the game. that’s how the market is conditioned and it’s going to take something drastic for smaller developers to leap onto it like that.

As this is a rumor we dont even what game it is and people are freaking out.

I hope one day xbox and the gaming community can go a week without talking about xbox going 3rd party.

Xbox is already allowing its games to be published on other platforms starting with As Dusk Falls. This game was never advertised as a timed exclusive because it’s a true first party game published by Xbox Game Studios and it doesn’t matter if it’s a game that attracts subscribers or not, Microsoft is giving the green light to bring it to competing platforms. It is because of this we continue to wonder if games like Blade could arrive on PS5 too…

Xbox absolutely needs to keep a exclusive portfolio of games that maintain its identity. Those should be your singleplayer IPs, and new IPs (mp and sp).

Nintendo switch can get multiple ports of smaller games and it makes sense. There is no equivalent hardware experience, and it’s not a threat to your beefy consoles. Might as well get some revenue back.

Sea of Thieves is a game that I feel is a platform onto itself and is dispensable to the identify of Xbox. At this point not a single gamer will get a Xbox for Sea of Thieves, so might as well grow the game further by putting it everywhere include PS.

So your logical conclusion to expanding the audience for an indie visual novel style game is that immediately jumps to AAA tentpole titles. Sensible.
