Sackboy sold like 300k copies between ps5 and PC. They should put it on switch
Hey, let’s all say nice things about Hue now we know they can’t read this. That’ll show 'em.
Hue seems cool.
A switch port makes sense fiscally, but we all know there is no chance of that ever happening
I’m confused lol
In a perfect world every game would be on every platform, if I could live in a world without exclusives it would be great but we don’t
Exclusives are vital for a platform to thrive and the console side of Xbox is already struggling without giving customers even less reason to care or buy the others
My opinion is that third party games don’t sell on Switch, so showing us evidence that 1m copies on Switch is a “success” whereas its devestating failure everywhere else is making the point for me.
Yes. Its wretched, poor and garbage. You’re weighing Xbox as a brand vs a pittance. Microsoft doesnt need to port HFR to anything, much less a pittance! Thats what Minecraft and CoD are for.
My question: for the most part we’ve moved past the idea that the PC platform is a direct competitor to Xbox, so the notion of MS games getting PC releases day and date are now gone. Did we always believe Microsoft had been a direct competitior to Nintendo? Are we willing to accept that MS doesn’t see Nintendo as a competitor and instead as a partner now? Are consumers allowed to determine what’s good and what’s taboo for this partnership to entail?
Like make it make sense to me, how does Xbox ompete against Mario bro lmfao
The relationship between Microsoft and its fans is like a guy who keeps reassuring his girl he loves her, but at the same time, keeps texting other girls .
I just want an honest answer from the leadership about their plans, that’s it, which we probably won’t get because corporate speak yadadada. It would be nice though. I get the logic of profitability and expanding their reach etc. but people just doesn’t like being led on( no matter how objective you are about this topic).
Keep misquoting Phil to sow discord…

I showed you evidence as to why a million from a third party developer is considered a success: its’ because people aren’t buying Switch games for third party joints. They’re buying it for Mario. They’re buying it for Zelda. This is not the case on the other platforms – people are not buying Xbox for Halo and Fable, people are not buying PlayStation for The Last of Us and God of War.
They are buying these consoles for 2K. For GTA. For CoD. This has always been the martket since the end of the 360 era lmfao. Only Nintendo has not changed because Nintendo has allowed themselves 40 years of building their brand and refusing to accomodate to appease the general market lmfao.
So again, I say; it is a pittance everywhere else the market has deemed it as a pittance to everywhere else BUT Nintendo. They are their own island where their content is what matters, not anyone else.
“So why put HFR or any Xbox game on Switch” you ask?
Why not? Switch Install base is massive. EVen getting a morsel of that install base to play Ori or HFR in the millions, or even upper hundredsd of thousands is absolutely a success.
The scary thing is probably that such an answer doesn’t exist. I suspect Phil would say we still want our own hardware and we believe in exclusives. Whilst at the same time saying he wants people to be able to play their games anywhere.
For a long time there has been an incompatibility between their plans and at some point one thing or another will win out. I suspect they themselves don’t know which.
They were pretty happy to be able to mute the thread and avoid the discussion, so won’t see anything we say
Yup, they have an identity crisis right now, eventually they have to chose one path to follow, can’t do both things( being first or third party) at once and expect both strategies to thrive at the same time.
Well they are both consoles unlike PC, PC also has GP and the MS store
Only reason people don’t view Nintendo as a serious competitor is their shit hardware for third parties, which may change when the switch 2 drops
For me I thought it would be pretty simple, release games exclusively natively on Xbox hardware and PC and xCloud would be for everyone else
Obviously there will be things that make sense to be everywhere like CoD but muddying messaging with smaller single player things like HFR just feels so unnecessary
I feel like they’ve already given their honest answer when they say things like “case by case basis” and “where it makes sense for us”. They can’t just come out and give you a roadmap for everything because even they probably don’t know. It’s like giving a hard release date for a game that just started development, it wouldn’t be practical.
Xbox is going to have plenty of exclusives and there will be plenty of other titles that will come to other platforms for various reasons.
Game pass aint on Switch.
Your argument is that Switch is so terrible for third parties, they should be overjoyed at their games selling mediocre numbers?
Sorry, but if Switch is getting HFR, the only worthwhile exchange is Mario and Zelda. Day 1 on game pass.
Because devaluing the Xbox brand isn’t at all worth it. Much less for absolute garbage. Hey Phil, how would you like to diminish your brand significantly for a burning bag of dog shit?
The problem with that is someone like Tim Stuart is saying something different like “putting their games to even their once traditional competitors”, makes that statement a little vague again. I honestly don’t blame some fans being mad at the mix messaging Xbox has been doing.
No they don’t, this is who they have been for years and they are making more money than ever.

How does a third party developer compete on a platform where 85% of all software revenue is generated solely by the platform owner? How do you define success?
Sorry, but if Switch is getting HFR, the only worthwhile exchange is Mario and Zelda. Day 1 on game pass.
Why would Nintendo, who makes 85% of all software revenue from their products alone, put their games on other platfroms? Does any other platform owner make 85% of their software revenue from their content alone?
I provided you numbers. You denied them and insist in keeping your head in the sand about how this industry works. I concede, and I hope you have a good day.
With all due respect I disagree. Can’t play every game and win them all. Something has to give.
I don’t really mind, plenty of MS games already on other platforms just care about the Xbox itself moving forward. But I’ll believe in it when I see it, Halo MCC was also leaked by everyone as coming to switch but never happened.
