They are making more money than ever but at the cost of the console and hardware
Which people need to realise is all people here care about

Exactly, I’m not even mad about it, really is just the communication part. I get why they are doing it.
You can not have an authentic conversatino about what constitutes as success for this company without comnig to terms with the fact that the company themselves does not give a shit about justifying your $500 console purchase.
No company does, but MS especially lmfao.
I swear, a lot of people on here would just be way, way better at being Nintendo fans at this point lmaoooo
Take a look at where the majority of their game sales and subs are to see which will win out. It’s consoles.
The games they have ported so far haven’t done much for the ecosystem monetarily. Identity and these nebulous terms people are throwing around are much less important to MS.
Again, people don’t care about how much money MS is making, we aren’t investors, they like the console and want to see it thrive and they need consoles for GP subs now and going forward, at least 30m are console subs
and maybe ease up on the teenage lmao’s everywhere
For the hardcore fans, sure. But, the casual fan has no idea who Tim Stuart is or what he said in an investor call because they’re not lunatics. My friend just bought a Series X over the holidays and didn’t even know MS had acquired ABK. It’s anecdotal evidence, sure, but I would wager that the vast majority of people who buy these consoles are like my friend and not like you or I.
My overall point is that this stuff doesn’t matter nearly as much as people think it does.
And what “game” are you talking about? The one where we’ve seen two separate platform holders release titles outside of their ecosystem? The one where those same two platform holders have put titles on PC because they’ve realized how much revenue is being missed, and is needed, at this point in the industry?
This same, tired Xbox-only focused doom and glooming about “devaluing” their brand or whatever other bullshit meanwhile the entire industry has been shifting for years, is beyond old. Did you all just collectively forget that Sony is literally going to be doing the same thing? It’s literally in the documents that were leaked. Maybe… just maybe, that proves that Xbox is actually ahead of the game when it comes to adapting to market trends. The days for full exclusivity of all titles, even for Sony, is already over. Some of you need to get over it, chuck out your clearly-terrible Biz 101 degrees, maybe touch some grass, and get with the program.
Otherwise, at this point, I’m considering this fearmongering a massive red flag.
Well now it definitely sounds like Hi Fi Rush on Switch. Though it’s gonna be Switch 2 IMO, game demands 60FPS.
Honestly I’m really happy that’s what it will be. Game was a 9/10 for me and it being a Switch 2 launch game will be like a second launch for the game with how successful I’m expecting it to be on there (again assuming this is how it’ll be). I could also see Tango asking for permission to be a part of the launch of the biggest gaming device in Japan so I’m also very happy MS will allow that (all assuming it happens). I’m also expecting a physical release for it too (hope they do add Xbox for that though lol)
Also now I seriously regret taking this long to make my 2024 Prediction Game post because I posted Hi Fi Rush on Switch 2 as my big prediction there, but now it looks like I’m piggy backing off rumors lol. I swear up and down this thought popped in my head last month and I just kept thinking “That makes so much sense… It’s gonna happen”
Without the money, there’s no games. Ultimately, that’s the most important issue. none of you have proposed a a reasonable strategy that will have the Xbox division as profitable as it is now that different from what it’s doing now
That’s the thing casuals don’t care, so why not just go third party and get the bag. Why keep pandering on hardcore fans and lead them on? Just be corporate about it so people can move on. We like to bring logic on things which is fine but people who are invested on this spent their hard earn money to get into this ecosystem, they should at least gets answers imo.
It’s inherently a conversation about business decisions because this rumor is born off the basis of MS relationship with Nintendo. You have to look at the decision objectively. No one is going to not sub off of GP because a game is on Switch, because those people do not buy Switch for third party games!!! They buy them for Nintendo! MS and every other TPP is competing for that small margin – where success has been reported by several other publishers.
It really understated how much of an issue this is for every publisher and platform holder that are not Nintendo and Valve rn lmao. Unless you have an iron-locked brand to push like SEGA does, you just cannot survive in this industry wihtout making the appropriate changes to your operation
I didn’t really have a problem with MS strategy until I see moves like this, I never expected Xbox to do massive hardware numbers again with their “everywhere” strategy but enough to stay relevant for third parties, that’s all that really matters to me
I also thought bringing a game to Xbox, PC and GP would be more than enough to be a thriving ecosystem without bringing games to rivals
Hardware being less relevant than before is fine but it’s already struggling out there and I feel moves like this do nothing to help that
Mods I respect y’all, but let me speak my opinion even if y’all think it ridiculous, that is why this thread created right so it won’t spread on other threads, respectfully thanks.
We have literal documented proof of Sony going “multiplatform”. We have one game potentially going multiplatform from Xbox and…
Because having an ecosystem where you make 30% on every sale is still very important. Throwing a few games onto competing platforms doesn’t really diminish that. Also, they’ve already given answers. It’s not their fault that people refuse to listen. Maybe when they officially announce it they’ll give better clarification. Maybe, juts maybe, people should f***ing wait till an official announcement before acting like spoiled children.
We all agree that Xbox’s strategy is to “be everywhere” because the console sales ceiling is what it is. This is the natural evolution and living up to the “case by case basis” that they’ve repeatedly stated for what is and isn’t on what platform.
Microsoft bottom line with the xbox brand doesn’t concern me because in the grand scheme of things xbox performance doesn’t impact Microsoft’s stock. So, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter to me if Microsoft is making more money than ever. If this is true, they just need to come up front and tell us what their strategy is when it comes to releases. If many of the games are going multiplat. Then I’ll feel safe to jump to Playstation as my main console, and they’ll be getting my 30% cut of video game purchases . At the end of the day that would hurt Microsoft if I take my business elsewhere because I personally in the xbox ecosystem for exclusives. Gamepass is nice, but its an added benefit and I don’t mind waiting for sales or purchasing certain games day one.
Xbox definitely can impact Microsoft’s stocks. Then you jump to “if many games are” when it’s literally just one being talked about. You prefer the ecosystem but will jump ship… why? GamePass is somehow just a “benefit” when it’s the main reason for most to have the console? These types of posts I just don’t get, it feels overly emotional especially when it’s reacting to a single rumored port.
It would be funny if after all that talk it ends up being call of duty making its way to Nintendo
