Cool, you can see the future. Not saying you are right or wrong but there ain’t no definite.
Ah, I see. That’s certainly something, sigh.
I can comfortably say Hi-fi Rush and Sea of Thieves being on other consoles won’t lead to layoffs, yes.
That’s is not what I had in mine but whatever you say
HFR going multiplatform doesn’t check any “rule” set by Phil that time, that’s why I’m curious to read the wishy-washy corpo statement they’ll provide. At least they should be aware that most console fans which actively engage the community won’t like it.
We don’t really even know the grand plans, so it’s hard to know the success criteria and what the impact is if they don’t meet them.
Finally someone answering without some snark. I’m not trying to tie in the current layoffs with this, if y’all misunderstand sorry. My question is if they don’t achieve what they want with their “grand plan”, what would be the consequences for the gaming division.
Sorry if posted already, but…utter horse bollocks then?
Pretty sure Tom Warren said it’s real.
Nah it was still datamined it’s just that the person who posted it to Reddit found it on Tumblr, other people have checked themselves and they found them.
The division is now too big to be tossed out, at worst they’ll cut their losses with some downsizing of less profitable things.
Let’s get out of the denial stage please, this is round 2 of yall having melt downs. It’s happening and you guys don’t deserve to melt down a third time lol
The same as if they didn’t do these “grand plans” as they literally make more money releasing on more platforms.
This move is capitalistic, MS will not stop at HFR and SOT. It’s not as bad as laying off almost 2000 people though. It is unfair to criticize Phil, he did the best he could, I don’t think Phil went to visit the ABK offices knowing he was going to fire some of them, I also don’t think he came out to disprove Tim Stuart in December and then did the complete opposite. People need to look higher up.
At this point, if Microsoft is going through with this, I would prefer them to announce it sooner rather than later just so it can be over and done with instead of the daily “are they” or “aren’t they”.
Yeah make sense, that’s why I mentioned layoffs because of the prospect of downsizing, not tied with the current events.
They’re going to announce it when the ports are done.
My biggest question is, where do they draw the line though? Sure, SoT is a very old game now, but HFR isn’t, but it is on the “smaller” side. But what about big upcoming releases? Will they come to other platforms a year after release? Because Starfield for example could be up next late this year. Doubt it, but you do start to wonder.
This whole “these games come to wherever Game Pass is.” will then be irrelevant too, and untrue.
The only real accomplishment of this move will be sowing the seed of doubt and people lie to themselves if they think in the age of internet, social media and smartphone 24/7 online, the thing won’t become the one and only discussion point about xbox games.
In all honesty, I believe that if/when Microsoft does this, it’s just a matter of time until their games are on Sony/Nintendo consoles day one. I see it the same as Sony putting their games on PC. It starts with one and keeps going until it’s day and date.
