Nintendo should always stay with what they’re best at and not chase Microsoft/Sony. Let them two fight it out while Nintendo reaps all the benefits and rewards of being the one that’s different with different games and kid oriented. Plus, they’re never going to spend hundreds of millions of dollars for their games like Sony and Microsoft do.
After finishing Majora’s Mask I need more, I get it when people say “Nintendo magic” because games like Zelda are just one of a kind. And while Breath and Tears don’t hold a candle to Ocarina and Majora’s Mask, they are still very good.
Had the Switch 2 released with a new Zelda game it would’ve been a day one buy for me without a doubt. Unless they’d re-use the map again, but there’s no way they do that. I am very curious what the games lineup will be at the Direct. Will we have a new 3D Mario for the holidays? It’s exciting.
Hideki Kamiya, the director of the next Okami game, at Clovers Studios, wrote at what should happen to the people who leaked information about the Switch 2 (via machine translation):
“I hope that all those who leaked Switch 2 information will be cursed for the rest of their lives to have poo on the soles of their shoes whenever they go home,”
“Now that I’ve been able to enjoy the surprise announcement of the new Okami with everyone else, I think all those damn leakers should be cursed.”
“The scumbag leaker is only acting for his own pleasure and self-satisfaction, Not only is he not benefitting anyone, he’s also causing all kinds of opportunity losses, and he’s a piece of trash who has nothing to be proud of.
“He should be covered in shit and thrown out of the atmosphere, and then stop thinking and wander around forever.”
“The scumbags are in a position of responsibility where they have access to information that only a very small number of people know about, but all they do is act on their dirty, irrational need for approval.
“They are the ones who should be blamed, not the manufacturers whose secrets were exposed, and they need to be crushed as soon as possible.”
It’s a good thing Nick didn’t leak any Switch 2 stuff.
Does Link even have text lines? Last time I checked he didn’t. Also do any character have actual voiced dialog? Because the closest I remember was greetings/exclamations by characters and Midna’s(maybe Fi?) gibberish talk.
I was talking with my friends on Xbox today about Switch and Switch 2. I wonder how long Nintendo will supporting the first Switch. We know Metroid is coming for it, but will a MK9 be for both or a Switch 2 exclusive? And the other games they are going to show during that Direct. What is your guess?
They don’t really need to support Switch IMO, so many of the games continue to sell throughout the life of the console as people pick up hardware. It’s not like other games that lose their juice shortly after launch.
NO. I’m with you never been impressed with Nintendo other than the Super Nintendo.
I get nostalgia I’m still SEGA but I don’t like double standards
Xbox showed off the Xbox One MS had a lot of flack and kickback despite them showing off actual production hardware, some tech specs what the system features/UI could do and a look at the new FIFA.
Nintendo shows off GCI renders and a 6-second clip of a Mario running… where it looks not much better than what’s gone before and no such outcry or kick back compared to what Xbox had.
Don’t get me wrong the Xbox One show was terrible but it was a hell of a lot better than the Switch 2. Don’t also get how Nintendo have the label for creativity when all they do is make endless sequels to Mario and Zelda
Such courage to make such a bold prediction. A system is going to come out in one of six of the eight remaining months after the four we already know it isn’t coming out. Who could have guessed!
I think they are just the perfect family friendly console, they keep things simple and seem to always get the core gameplay loop spot on.
I will always fondly remember the Wii because I remember my entire family in my living room playing Wii bowling, including my late nan and she struggled with a TV remote.
Because the gameplay mechanics are just perfect it’s easy to play the games with your children and many Nintendo games are quite forgiving (or have a setting to make things easier for children).
My kids are gradually getting into Xbox/PC now but outside of their phones they only ever wanted to play on the Nintendo before.
