Well, you asked what would sell me on a Switch 2!

Well they sure won’t win you over.

At launch, unlikely, but I’ll pick one up at some point.

Yeah I’m not sold on this at all yet. I mean the thought of a brand new Mario Kart at launch (not confirmed yet as launch title officially) is great, but i definitely need to see more of it. My first thought was hey, that’s MK8 with a new track.

And what else do they have at launch? And yes indeed, please Nintendo, don’t be like Nintendo, so to speak, DO have enhanced BC please.

I love the design, very sleek with that black and colour splashes. If leaked specs are true, we are looking at a really capable system considering it is portable. Having Nvidia on your side really makes a difference.

Day one prolly and this is going to sell like hotcakes. No wonder Xbox is going to release many games on it.

I’m sold on Switch 2 mainly due to Metroid Prime 4 and it being backwards compatible. I also want to play Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Super Mario RPG and Super Mario 3D World so I have a few reasons to want one. Also have TMNT: Splintered Fate but this is expected to release on Xbox/PlayStation this year so I will most likely wait and see with this game but the other four, im looking forward to playing them all when the time comes.

Just checked out the trailer. It felt very mindful of the Wii U debacle… but was totally fine. I haven’t played a Nintendo game since BotW 1 or that gatcha Xenoblade game, so I’m pretty excited for it. huge library for me to work through.

I was thinking how awesome it would be if Xbox and Nintendo combined their powers, so to speak and made a Diddy Kong Racing sequel. Obviously it’s not happening because MK9 is next, but man. I loved that game.

Speaking of MK9, some other forums are speculating that we might be seeing a adventure mode, much like Forza Horizon and thus basically a open world Mario Kart with an adventure mode. That could work!

To be pedantic, I thought they said the mobile game already out is MK9 (Mario Kart Tour).

Interesting, that would make it MK10 then. Wonder what they’ll call it.

What made Nintendo sold you the original Switch?

The Switch magically came into the mail for me.

No kidding :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

After the Switch reveal and seeing the games I saw no reason to get one. I had MK8 on WiiU, and Breath of the Wild as well. Until a great friend of mine asked me what my address was again. Turns out he had actually bought a Switch for me with a copy of MK8. Absolutely madness. :astonished:

I probably won’t bother buying a Switch 2 for myself but might consider one if I decide to ramp up the hosting/social activities.

Probably because I was heavily entrenched in Sega in my early days, but don’t have an attachment to any Nintendo franchise that makes any of these games a must play for me.

My backlog for Switch is like 75% done. If the Switch 2, enhances the old games, I’ll put them on hold.

That’s one of the worst reveals for a new console I’ve seen since the Xbox One and Mario Kart looks like a Nintendo Wi U title

I don’t get the love of Nintendo and the free pass they get from the Press

Nostalgia. Nintendo is all about the games you grew up with. Portability is nice.

Maybe its time Nintendo Japan grew up and started to develop games without a child like look?

I still don’t get when Nintendo gets a free pass mind. XBox was savaged for its poor revealing of the Xbox One for showing one game (Fifa)

Why stick with something that’s been incredibly successful for decades, right?

Also, there are plenty of successful games made by Nintendo that don’t fit that bill (Metroid, Zelda, Xenoblade, etc.). So the rant is a bit reductionist from the get-go.

For me the nostalgia flair is not a bad thing. It works with me too. I wanted to play Breath of the Wild so I bought a Switch Lite. I played a few games I wanted to have on the go and then got a Switch OLED recently.

Nintendo is out of the game. Read about Blue Ocean strategy, it’s working really well for Nintendo. They managed to carve their own market with people buying into the nostalgia and gimmicks which are something Nintendo are master in marketing.
