My money is on ports, not remakes, of Twilight Princess HD and/or Wind Waker HD. Nintendo has been strategically throwing in Wii U ports to the Switch to pad out release gaps, and given that theyāve made their way through a fair amount of the catalog, it makes sense.
Iād love to have proper OoT and MM remake, but this is Nintendo, so Iām keeping my expectations in check.
Nintendo never appealed to me other than when I had a Super Nintendo for SF2 and I did enjoy the console. My older brother had Nintendo consoles and left them all to me when he moved out of the house but even then, I was more SEGA and really getting into the original XBox
Our kids (well now adults) were never into gaming much other than the boy getting into MGS series and becoming a fan of Hideo Kojima games .
Iām not looking to say Nintendo are poor just that Iāve never got why they appeal to so many people . Thatās a non issue what I donāt like is how Nintendo get a free pass most of the time.
Had XBox shown off the new Xbox just like how Nintendo showed off the Switch 2. I think we all know Xbox would have been savaged by the press and social media
What if itās the Breath of the Wild remaster? Apparently there has been a rumor that one was coming.
If true, I wonder what that means for Tears, because if they release a BotW remaster and charge you for it and Iām sure they will, I donāt see them enhancing Tears for free, or at all with some kind of patch. I was talking with someone about this and he said that maybe the Switch 2 can brute force it. But isnāt that only if the games use variable resolution and unlocked framerates? I donāt know if TotK does that.
Looking back at how Nintendo does thingsā¦they wonāt do a Xbox, as in free patches for several of their older games. Iād absolutely love to eat crow on that though.
Itās kinda silly if a very old game like BotW is the only one that gets the remaster treatment. But then again, Tears is only two years old or so? I wish a enhanced Tears was a given, but I shall not get my expectations too high.
Nintendo, more often than not, has good positive press in terms of constant releases, community and pricing. MS releases awesome news then follows it up the next week with layoff or price increase news. People do not enjoy news about acquisitions. Sony isnāt any different.
The news surrounding Sony and MS are generally negative; for Nintendo it is generally positive. Thatās why they get a pass from gamers. As for press - who cares what they think.
Thatās a grossly reductionist take that glosses over the periods where thereās nothing but a string of good news for Xbox and the media/zeitgeist will stir up FUD out of nowhere. Itās more likely some of this shit is purely bad-faith, fanboyism, and advertising-corruption⦠you know, like we see in every other industryās corporate media.
