Finished Shattered Space! It was fine. I just wish we didn’t have to wait a year for the next expansion. I’m curious how long Bethesda will support the game with signifiant content additions.
I think the plan is to support it in a similar way to Ubisoft supporting Assassin’s Creed. With likely imo anyways, Bethesda bringing in a 3rd party studio to continue its support once the majority of them move on to TES6.
Add to that mods, both official by Bethesda and not, Starfield will be getting quite a bit of upgrades. Currently I’m eyeing up the new one that allows us to start our own Chunks because I decided my new characters back story was as a chef. Now likely disgraced for making chunks on her off time to sell.
I can’t never get the distance for the explosive barrels correctly, but I’m glad the hold to throw option is there(for me thats Y). Since I just have to wait for, the Crimson Fleet ship to open throw it inside and shoot the barrel.
That’s cool but I do wonder if the water spills out when flying upside down during battles and stuff. That would be even cooler.
I don’t think it would work beyond spilling water to the side when we take a hit if it did, because no matter what way we turn in space gravity is always fixed towards the floor. I think it’s a lot like gravity on a planet.
Does anyone know how we can report something to Bethesda? Because I getting a stutter in The Well on New Atlantis, and I had one for a bit in Cydonia on Mars?
I already checked to make sure it wasn’t a mod doing so because the I hadn’t been to The Well for a while and the first time, I returned was on a modded game.
I didn’t realize you could recruit Hadrian as crew member!
I believe any follower that says something when you use your powers can be recruited.
I’ve been jumping into Starfield as I play a lot of Metaphor Re Fantazio, started a new character and have been messing around with the settings to take advantage of the new settings and the extra XP they provide.
As expected the leveling of the game is much faster, as we can crack up all the extra XP settings before turning in a quest.
I’ve also been messing with a mod that allocate levels to equipment, with the idea being that it’s done to provide a more diverse use of in game items. The problem though is that I don’t believe the mod touches on things like weapon damage or armor rating, as I found a trucker boost pack that requires me to be level 19 to equip. But all it’s protections are still worst or just a little bit better than the Ecliptic boost pack at level 5.
Making the mod kind of not worth using, there’s also the fact that it doesn’t stop legendary weapons from spawning that have effects that allows them to hit above their low level settings. This is also before advanced versions of everything start dropping, so far I think I will restart a new character and remove this mod.
I came upon the Starfield Lore subreddit a week or two ago, and it’s since become one of my favourites so I thought I’d mention it here. It’s basically a bunch of Starfield fans speculating and sharing their theories about the lore and backstories of the world of Starfield.
This is the latest post that I’ve quite enjoyed:
So, tell me again about the hash-- I mean, the mods.
If I install a non-Bethesda mod, achievements are disabled. I know that. But is it permanent for that save file? Or do they get enabled as soon as I uninstall the mods, even if I’ve put in a number of hours on that character with mods installed?
Oh, and this is why I’m finally thinking about making the non-Bethesda mod jump:
If you make a save with non-achievement-friendly creation, that save is tainted. If you want an established save for next DLC, you either stay off unfriendly creations or keep a previous save.
That’s what I though, but wanted to confirm. Thanks.
It’s a bit of a bummer that that is how it works. Aside from my first character that lasted 10-20 hours or so, I’ve used only one character so it’s a bit of a bummer to create a “fork” so to speak. But I’ve been looking at a lot of the non-achievement-friendly creations lately and there’s some fun stuff there that I’ll have to start experimenting with soon.
I havent tried it, but to get achievements there is a way you can save just before entering the unity disable mods then once you go through all your achievements pop up.
Interesting. I’ll have to look into that.
Two new official Bethesda creations dropped today:

There’s also an update of mostly bug fixes. Release notes are here:

Oh yeah that is nice. I still have some achievements to unlock so I was holding off on installing mods.
