For the avoidance of doubt I wouldnt want to sour others enjoyment of this. Its just massively missed the mark for me personally. I like Starfield a lot, I have beaten it three times now but this DLC hasnt met my own expectations.
Im glad you have enjoyed it - dont let my negativity on it cloud your own judgement (not that you were anyway)
If you can explain what for you was missing for it to be good, I would appreciate it.
I really like that you slowly uncover how the Varuuns live, what happen to them and how they deal with the consequences, as their culture is so outlandish but really interesting. Itâs a melting pot of so many Sci-fi tropes but it so unique in a way, just like Morrowind was so out there as a fantasy setting when it came out.
And those games havent patched in free visual updates, free quests, and free brand new mechanics. At most, CP77 added some visual modes for free.
Who cares what people choose to think about Starfield? They already mostly flame and lie, so we should ignore them and operate in the truth ourselves. If you didnât like it, then thats unfortunate.
I havenât seen any of the other reviews other than XboxEra, but I did see Mattyâs summary and I didnât expect that from him. Itâs his opinion of course, but I guess I somehow expected that he would have digged it.
At the end of the day it doesnât matter one bit, what matters is what you think of it. Iâll find out eventually. Have so much left to do in the base game as it is.
It has been odd. People, like Paul Tassi, who loved the base game but have since completely flipped on it after people on the internet brow beat them for over a year. âItâs more of the base game and not transformativeâ, but you liked the base game, so how is that a bad thing?
Just something i saw on the main sub. People arent sure, but there is superior armour, with weapons from data mining that might be mislabed as advanced.
Superior armor has existed already, from what I remember not many suits are superior though, from the base game Explorer, Trackers and Bounty hunter could be found in superior. Currently I have 3 VaâRuun variants with the superior tag in my inventory and 2 of them are named differently but have no differences between them while one looks like the base game VaâRuun suit with white stripes on it.
Weapons I havenât seen at all, but the blade weapons are dropping in advance, which is strange because none of the base game weapons have that tag. They generally have their own classification, but I can see this as Bethesda deciding to bring everything under one classification to make it easier. But so far, the highest hitting weapon I have is a Pain Blade and itâs labeled: Extruded, not advanced.
There have been multiple people who gave the base game a great score and said the DLC isnât good enough because it didnât âfix all the problems with the base gameâ.
Just did 2 side quest which were just about the talking
and dang, they hit kind of hard for me. I canât really relate to the characters, as itâs not something that I have any real experience with, but they were all bittersweet endings.
Another quest Iâve done was a lot of actions and shed some light on a new enemy type, has me wondering if maybe I should have lied, because the character I help with the quest seems depressed.
Anyways back to the action with another side quest taking me out of the city and no need to read my light spoiler stuff.
