I played it uncapped on visual was a lot smoother bit gutted to be honest
Sounds like a unintentional thing, yeah. Probably a bug. But I understand you. I hate it when a patch disables or breaks something in a game.
Only managed to play around an hour or so of shattered space but got off to a very good start.
Honestly the highlight of the updates so far for me personally was BGS finally issuing a fix for a bug in the Ryujin questline where an NPC wouldnt spawn on Paradiso.
Been waiting months for that fix so I finally completed Ryujin tonight before hopping in.
Here are the patch notes for todayās update. Mostly bug fixes. For some reason Bethesda hasnāt posted it on their site yet, so here it is on Steam:
I was checking out the update message and it says go to Starfield game . com, which just takes us to bethesdaās website. But more importantly if we click the learn more link that comes up we get some background on the dlc.
Put in about 2 hours(probably longer) and have made it to the destination, took a couple of screen shots of the area. Have decided to start out with a side quest, after the initial meet up.
Ah, my first death in the DLC got caught by surprise and forgot my number one rule of playing on extreme damage/extreme defense enemies, always be healing!
Not much of a spoiler as anyone thatās seen the new background has seen something similar, but wanted to share one screenshot.
Iām so glad they added advance laser weapons, that are closer to their other counter parts.
Edit: adding an image because finally the Equinox is getting some love! Alhough it does make me wonder if the equinox is an attempt by the settled systems to recreate the starlash(this is with no perks in lasers or rifles too).
Had to turn Starfield off tonight. Shattered space so far been a let down. The opening sequence was good but now I am in the open world I am a bit disappointed. So many POIs feel just stuck there with little thought/meaning behind them.
Then took a side quest for a break and the very first one you stumble across has you walking around the planet collecting 6 different samplesā¦ meh.
Iām eating good with Shattered Space! Seeing an old mechanic brought back even if it has a timer is really great.
I just finished 2 main quest on the planet so will do a couple of side quest that start in the city.
Itās kind of interesting. I didnāt really dig Shattered Space on my old level 68 character, but Iām really enjoying it on my new character (level 12). I might have to back off and level up some more, but so far, so good.
Iām going to try to take it slow; I donāt want to burn through 10 hours too quickly.
Iām not mainlining the game and Iām already 12 hours in, part of it is the fact Iām not fast traveling though.
Would love to know what they were thinking with this side quest in Shattered Space āScientific Methodā. For the big talk we had about hand crafted things, this type of fetch quest is just not good enoughā¦ especially when its the first optional content you get introduced to on a main mission.
Itās a classic āget to know the layout of the new placeā-quest. Very normal.
I had to collect 10 samples in empty spaces across the planet. I get milage could vary but i just dont agree. I couldnt even get there quicker using the Rev8 as for some reason if you fast travel to another icon on this planet the vehicle doesnt go with youā¦ which is just mind boggling.
Anyway I got through the terrible fetching and was told to go to a crimson fleet base. I sided with the crimson fleet in the main game and then now in this mission I am killing them. I told the quest giver I had connections with the fleet (understatement) and I got one generic line back about how that doesnt matterā¦ which made no sense. Severely underwhelmed so far and thats without moving onto the āhand craftedā content thats usually some spacers in a random hut in the mapā¦ usually guarding either nothing or something but of no value.
I donāt know if itās because of Phantom Liberty and Shadow of The Erdtree being the last dlcās that I bought but this is shockingly underwhelming for its price tag?
I personally donāt mind because the early access component was worth the price to me but I would have a hard time recommending this to friends who were on the fence at this price.
One last note, itās an utter shame that Bethesda wonāt get its flowers for the generational leap they made in terms of their graphics. After playing FO4 to jumping back into this for the dlc only highlights it even more.
Maybe, I canāt say Iām feeling the same but itās understandable if people are.
But I also wouldnāt rate Shadows of the Erdtree higher so far and Iām only about 12 hours in.
Your mileage may vary. I love this expansion. It may be on the shorter side but itās sweet and they put a lot of love and care into it.
