Starfield |OT| You're Finally Awake... In Space!

I won’t tell anyone if you don’t.

When I was playing Starfield, I just kept upgrading the default ship that you get from Barrett. I tried other ships but only had two weapons and while I assume you could probably add a third weapon, I simply decided to keep the default ship instead which I liked and had it pretty well setup.

At this point I’m planning on keeping the ship, specially because the cockpit is the one I use when making my usual flying tubes.

Yeah, on my first playthrough I think I just upgraded everything to the point that only the original hab with the bed was left. This is just me messing around doing quest and scavenging for items to sell to see if I can make the money needed to get off the planet without The Frontier. So, I just keep stealing a ship though.

Okay. Didn’t realize you were replaying the game. Frontier…that was the name. Couldn’t remember it when I was typing. lol

Side note - is the 1418 MASS limit you have from it being “greatly increased”? If so, is that the maximum? Thanks.

For some reason my andreja companion wont use guns anymore only swords, anyone else have this issue?

Not yet, but does she still equip a melee weapon when she has none on her?

So far the environmental stuff doesn’t seem to be hitting to hard. I think the idea I had to use the Hazmat suit from the research station we go with Vasco is working.

Because running around Mars in the day the suits protection gets depleted quickly. But while questing the worst I got was a beeping noise that was counting down protection.

I’m playing in easy enemies/hard damages with environmental + positive/negative food buffs.

I kill everyone with a few bullets except bosses so it’s more realistic and less bullet spongy, but I have to be extra careful because getting hit can put me in a bad state pretty quickly by draining my health maximum. I also have to eat and drink but it has benefits on stealth, reloading, health and stamina so it balances out the health and combat issues a bit.

I really like playing with these settings. It’s survival but on easy mode although it still has the tension of trying to not get hit at all because healing wounds takes resources, a trip to an infirmary location and/or in game time. I even have to lay low in game to recover sometimes, so it kind of has these interesting moments to me. Also, getting on some planets with environmental hazards has some real consequences, it’s no joke.

I’m glad I can tinker and find that perfect mode I want to play, as before the update, the game was a bit too easy with almost no use for medicines, doctors and food and every planet was a sandbox and not as dangerous as some of them should have been.

This update is almost hitting all my grievances and some.

What is your environmental protection? Trying to get some more rare materials the conditions are brutal (I also fell into a sinkhole and died because of it)

Although it makes sense, I wish I could regen in cover, you need to really be in an airlock space, which can make it hard.

No, I took them away and then she just fights bare handed, she wont use guns

I can’t upgrade space suits yet, so I’m using the hazard suit as clothing option when going out. Because it gives 15 protection against everything except radiation(that’s 10), with the space suit it puts me at: Thermal. Airborne. 45 60(perk adds 10) Radiation. 50 45

I remember these being in the 30s and lower for me before and my protection didn’t last long on Mars or Titan before. I will have to try it out harsher planets soon.

Yeah, the new settings are hitting a good middle ground for a lot of things for me.

I play with extreme enemy damage(mostly for the higher legendaries drop) and easy player damage. After some testing with Normal player damage, I couldn’t do enough damage with the weapons I collected at level 1 unless I was sneaking.

Of course I haven’t really learned my lesson and playing like normal and I’m having a lot of close calls in fights and having to use both food and medicine to keep myself healed.

I’m guessing dismissing her and the recruiting her isn’t doing it either. So definitely a unique problem, mine seems to be Vasco on Kreet who only rushed one enemy when in battle(although this could be because I was trying to stay crouchedyand not die.

OK, so finally depleted my protections of Rhea another of Jupiter’s moon. The weather seems the same as Titan, but it did take about 5-10 minutes.

Also since I got hyperthermia, and had reduce health I decided to wait 3 hours on Mars to get my health back to normal and nearly died. From what I think was malnourishment and dehydration.

Mods for Xbox whennnnnnnnnn?! :flushed:

Don’t expect full conversion mods at best we will get armors and weapons, with some quest based on Starh Warhs.

Yeah, PC will always rule when it comes to these things. I do hope they have made the max size limit of mods larger than Skyrim and Fallout 4.

It will definitely be higher than Fallout 4, but yeah same here. I want to use a mod to increase flight speedvmore likely I think I would use something similar to cheat terminal in Fallout 4.

The amount of versatility that gives makes a lot of other mod things we would only add because it does the same but very specifically.

Yeah that would be great. Or hell, even one of the first mods on PC was that you fly in real time to planets. That might very likely get old, but the option would be neat.

I remember when I checked out some Skyrim mods and it actually had The Forgotten City mod available for Xbox. Completely new location, story, quests. Eventually we should start seeing that for Starfield too and then it’s GO TIME.

So, derelict ships that have some sort of malfunction involving an environmental issues are still the worst.

Before any of the current survival updates, I already had problems exploring them because they were death traps. Focusing on having higher proctiins help, but it’s still a race to find things with multiple trips.
