Starfield |OT| You're Finally Awake... In Space!

I know you can transfer all of your resources by hitting RB on Xbox, but I don’t know if you can do that with every item category or not. There should be a button prompt at the bottom if it’s not RB.

Yes, Xbox stuff wont come until Mod tools/official support is there

Nah, there’s a whole shit load of stuff there now

Nothing major but there’s already like 200 mods there now

damn!

And they haven’t given a time frame yet, have they? Just post launch?

Nope, nothing yet unfortunately

Had a random encounter last night, was exploring on a planet and a ship landed nearby. Went to investigate and there was a bunch of spacers in a huddle. Boarded the ship killed everyone on board but couldn’t take over the ship because my piloting skill wasn’t the right level.

Left the ship and tossed a grenade into the bunch of spacers in a huddle :joy:

Then i found a note on one of them about a secret outpost…

Found these very good looking NPCs talking, they’re titled as Diplomats and the voice acting and the way they look seemed like it was too good for them to be random NPCs so I wonder if they will later be part of some side quest.

Any game that’s let me create “Mike Beagle” onboard the “Samurai Doo-Wop” is a nine in my book. And Barrett is a great stand-in for Jet.

But jokes aside this game is an easy 9 after 12 hours in. And possibly a 9.5 after everything is said and finished. It’s still got some rough edges and Bethesda can always invest MORE in the roleplay side of things, but it’s meeting my expectations and more. As someone who considered Skyrim “Fisher Price’s My First RPG” (don’t even get me started on FO4), you’d be a fool to sleep on this game.

(Hope you dorks are doing well. I’m still lurking around. Best place for Xbox News)

Persuasion is OP! I can avoid my least favorite activity in every game ever created, stealing for some greedy asshole.

I’m not the person you replied to, but as someone who does wish the loading screens were a little more hidden I’ll take a stab at it:

If you’re in the cockpit and use the viewscreen (not the menu) to select your next travel point, a nice looking animation plays. Your character turns on the hyperdrive, light bends, the ship takes off. Great stuff. But then we get a blank screen, and then a new animation of arriving at the new planet. I think it would be so much nicer if we didn’t have the blank screen. Some kind of dissolve or other effect would do, anything but a blank screen would go a long way towards making it more aesthetically pleasing.

Nitpick? Sure. When it comes to a masterpiece like this game, notpicks are all we have. :yum:

I think that would actually make the load times take longer.

Starfield together is going to be wild.

This is substantially better than Fallout 4 right? More I see the more it gives me Fallout 4 vibes, it’s not that bad is it?

never change, Bethesda.

That Halo Reach music was just perfect, it’s nostalgic every time I hear it.

Just play the game and decide for yourself when you can, just watching videos isn’t really going to give you the right feel for the game.

I was trying to decide if I was going to play early but I’ll just wait.

This game is just so awesome. The amount of sude quests you get dragged into due to decisions you make is crazy. I have gone back to the last save point a number of times to do something differently so I dont get taken away from the main quest line.

I have a feeling the guys that gave it a lower score either never played past the first hour, or just dont like RPGs. This is a game that will go down as underrated, even with a 87 meta. It’s just that good.

It’s so weird, I have never seen so many drastically different opinions on this. I think it really depends on what you like in a Bethesda game or RPG. Seems like the people who were in love with the exploration and discovery of their games feels a bit let down

Either way I’ll give it a try when it launches on gamepass and I hope I can find the love that others have had and not the dissatisfaction others have found

Starfield is more polished than every AAA UnrealEngine game released this generation, especially the current generation exclusives like Star Wars and Redfall, I would hate to see that engine try running a game like Starfield lol, people forget the Witcher 3’s launch was a mess, the game had some bad bugs for many weeks until CDPR fixed them, CDPR has never had a solid launch besides maybe the first 2 Witcher games but I don’t know how those were, and their games aren’t remotely close to Bethesda games but I do agree that Bethesda needs to improve many aspects of their games still even though Starfield is already a huge jump above Skyrim and Fallout 4, ES6 probably will benefit from the game being set in a single world.

I’m still worried about how Witcher will perform on UnrealEngine 5, the engine just doesn’t give me confidence when it comes to open world games, especially a complex game like The Witcher.
