And yeah, finding the combat very satisfying here too. Clearing out indoor levels is a huge amount of fun, more so than any Bethesda game before. Helps that the combat-oriented locations look so damn pretty. The variety of weapons and ammo is very impressive too. Forget the tough choices you sometimes have to make in quests - the really brutal choices I’m having to make here are which weapons to ditch from my quickslots.
Sorry, that was more of a generalized comment towards the overall discussion about the game. A lot of people seem to have issues with things that have always been in BGS games.
Side note, what does everyone think of the Skill system? I definitely don’t hate it, but I do wish they had gone the Elder Scrolls route and make skill progression a bit more organic.
Also, I’ve spent like 3 hours now exploring one of the planets and it dawned on me that this one landing zone on one planet seems to encompass the same size of the entirety of Skyrim and may even be larger. There’s obviously less to do, but still, pretty crazy to think about.
This prob explains why the gunplay feels very good

I love it, and I’m glad they didn’t go with Elder Scrolls Style of leveling skills. Because that becomes too easy to exploit and be over leveled very quickly. But it’s not level gated as much as Fallout 4 was imo, where we needed to be a certain level to keep adding skill points to your primary skills.
So the photomode has access to brightness contrast and saturation, crossing my fingers, giving us full access to these 3 setting is in the cards for a future update.
Think Todd mentioned that ID had nothing to do with the gunplay actually. They did help with the motion blur
Starfield subreddit went from 230K to 325K in the last 2 days, Steam numbers at 230K+ still, all before the game is available to all game pass users on the 6th and obviously at a lower price as well.
Subreddit growth reminds me of Elden Ring which sold 12 million in the first month, Starfield won’t do that because of Game Pass but safe to say it will do that in player numbers, I do wonder if this game will be received more positive by most players than some of the reviewers, so far from what I’ve seen on Facebook, Reddit and Twitter people are talking about it very positively but we won’t get a clear picture a few months after September 6th when it’s available to most and not just the most hardcore ones like us who paid extra to play early.
I have seen some people (mainly in the other era) disappointed that it isn’t No Man’s Skyrim lol.
That was never promised.
I kinda wish they didn’t lock what (I feel) should be standard gameplay functions behind unlocking skills. So much stuff I want to put points in early on but I can’t even go stealth or use the jetpack without allocating points there.
For those curious, studios/vfx firms that supported on Starfield:
Iron Galaxy, The Multiplayer Group, Sperasoft, Snowed In Studios, Gamesim, The Forge Interactive, Nobody Studios, Undertone FX, Wardog Studios, Virtuos Spark*, Scythgames, Rouge Mocap, Red Hot CG, Kaptured Motions, Airship Interactive, Lakshya, Original Force Ltd, NVA Studios, Goodbye Kansas, GL33K, FuryLion Group, Cubic Motion, Cloudmark Digital Art Studios, iD Software, MachineGames, Arkane Studios (appears to be Lyon?), Bethesda Softworks, Xbox Game Studios ATG.
Thanks, finally got it figured out. Someone on reddit was having a similar problem. Turns out you have to add habitat modules to lengthen the ship first, then it lets you attach extra cargo bays to the sides of those hab modules.
I am only about two hours into the game , just landed at new Atlantis before I had to stop and do something else. So far I think the complaints of loading in this game seem a bit overblown. But again I am only two hours in so I probably haven’t hit the crazier sections of the game with it? Definitely the best looking Bethesda game to date with almost no Jank. I really love the ship combat so far, which is funny as I thought that would be my least favorite aspect of the game.
I love the look of the game.
Fair enough and I agree =)
Love the skill system so far. Was worried it would be limited but there’s a lot of depth here imo.
I really wish the local area map was better
The artists really nailed the art for the game. They can pat themselves on the back.

I honestly can’t believe IGN gave this game a 7…
Like the more I play, the more I’m sure of my opinion that the IGN review is just unfair. There is no way a person plays this game and comes out saying it is a 7.
So, 12 hours and 25 minutes in and I have made it to level 7!
I’m 20+ hours in and the loading isn’t bothering me at all. They are frequent, but are very quick.

Wish Xbox Most Played is updated. Maybe tomorrow.
