Nice to see some big marketing push
i agree, BGS is not behind the curves in anything, their games are so unique that many failed in trying to reproduce what they can do.
I actually never wanted real time traversal and flight, to me the worst part of almost any open world game I ever play is actually the vehicle/horse etc. traversal. I think BGSâs direction was in the right place as it brings the focus to the actual important meat of things youâd do in a game.
Thereâs absolutely elements of Bethesdaâs games where they are weaker on but I think straight focusing on those elements in unfair when on the flipside they are doing things no other devs on the market are doing
CDPR are the only devs making RPGâs of this kind of scale and even then they are entirely different beasts
The stuff people want sounds cool in your head but then you start to think about how you make it work and make it fun itâs a whole different game
Not to mention the sheer amount of resources it would take to do it
CDPR used the Piranha Bytes blueprint and took it to another level.
What I donât get is why people pretend like it was ever advertised, Todd literally said there wonât be seamless flight almost two years ago lol, and they didnât even imply it in the Direct.
Even though the flight stuff has been the most disappointing thing to me so far, itâs been pretty amusing seeing the people who laughed at Starfield for being like NMS complain about Starfield not being like NMS.
This is one good thing thatâs come from this, no more dumb NMS talk
Iâm having too much fun with the game to be arguing about it. I just think there are some obvious places where BGS has not kept up with other AAA WRPGs and hope that they get addressed with future iterations of their engine.
I definitely agree they are behind in some aspects and hopefully for ES6 they will figure it out, although some aspects I donât think will be as big an issue as they wonât be dealing with the same stuff like the scale/1000 planets etc
What I donât like is people will say this and then say âmove to UE, look how good those games lookâ without considering everything else Bethesda/their engine is capable of
Things are way too black and white for some people
When the game was originally revealed, I was hoping you could take off seamlessly. When they made it known we canât take off seamlessly, I was disappointed but accepted it for what it was given the fidelity level on display.
Nowhere did I indicate I thought a BGS game wasnât going to be a BGS game. I knew, and hoped, weâd get a BGS game but with a mix of NMS or Elite Dangerous. For Starfield 2, I do hope they lean a bit more on the space sim side while keeping the depth and strength of BGS games.
Again none of this is a major issue for me but they are noticeable and at times, disruptive to the experience for me. Understanding what makes a BGS game a BGS game doesnât mean all of us have to accept the flaws typically associated with their releases. Iâm enjoying the game but that doesnât mean there arenât things I canât wish for to make the experience even better.
I donât even look in the stores for weapons, I always assume the stuff I pick up in the field is better. Am I missing out?
This is the first time I went to the store in Jemison, not sure if they sell much cool stuff but I did just see that and couldnât help myself and bought it, also bought out their entire stock of resources as Iâm about to go build a big base
Did you limp back to your ship? Lol
You should see how fast my o2 goes down just walking
Yeah, I donât get it either. It would, like you say, take minutes to get on-off planets.
Sitting on 601/160 mass is painful lmao
