I never got this whole every plane needs to have life. Its space. Sometimes having a lifeless planet but with some mystery intrigue and useful resources is absolutely fine.
IF the game was made for you to have curated experiences in these planetsâŚit would be way too big and too long even more so than it is now.
As someone who spend time literally scanning random planets in ME2 and ME3 and being engaged in the different information about said planetsâŚstarfield is going to be a gold mine.
So many planets in ME2 and 3 where you can explore but it boils down to just going in killing a bunch of enemies and getting some resources. IT was repetitive but they had purpose it sort of made those galaxies more meaningful.
In Starfield a lot of stuff is rendered real time and graphically the game blows ME out of the water.
Exactly that. A lifeless planet makes sense, it will have other interesting stuff to see and find.
I wonder, how many of Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout maps is life, in percentage?
Iâm actually really looking forward to visiting lifeless planets. One of the coolest parts of the game Deliver Us the Moon was being out on the moon and getting to experience the muted void that is space. I would prefer that over every planet being filled with pointless, goofy fake creatures.
Honestly, Iâm much more interested in the fauna of planets than the animals.
Kinda funny, not the podcast.

Bethesda have always been industry leaders at this balance. The moments where you donât find anything, or you âonlyâ find a cool vista or an isolated fishing spot or whatever, are part of what makes the moments where you do find that awesome handcrafted quest special.
The alternative is the Ubisoft map full of question marks and a new scripted activity every 5 feet. Gamers love to claim that thatâs not what they want from an open world, but clearly a lot of people do demand that.
I agree, this has always been great in their games.
By the way, have I not been paying attention or didnât Todd say anything about loading times? I donât recall it. But i see people talking shit about one minute loading times whenever you enter a building. People really canât comprehend the existence of this game, and especially it not coming for PS5.

This game is going to be the showcase of next-gen.
For the first time in my life Iâm seriously considering getting an AMD card because of the extra VRam. Those visual and texture mods are going to quickly fill up the 8gb on my 3060 Ti .
Looks at PC
My 7900X and 7900 XTX is looking good now
I assume this is a PC thing?

Mostly, though itâs promising to see them mention optimization for fsr for Xbox as well. The Xbox series are built on amd hardware as well so theyâre doing work to make it look good and be smooth for both.
I like to see this kind of enthusiasm, very cool. And heâs right, itâs without a doubt the best deep dive ever.
Yeah, It would have no affect on Xbox console players whatsoever.
Some newâish stuff.
Loading points
Mod for DLSS support likely to be in the game very soon after launch.
From this video
The stuff about loading sounds good to me!
As long as the load times are relatively fast, itâs not an issue at all for me
Not a PC player so I donât care about the DLSS stuff but nice for them that it will get added quick even if Bethesda donât support it
Yep, only thing that sucks is that enabling mods means no achievements.
Thatâs only a console thing I think
