I was on Twitter just now talking to someone who had tons of bugs post launch in Fallout 4. I am one of the lucky ones that didn’t have many issues with the game.

But then I thought of Skyrim SE and how it STILL has the main menu bug that becomes completely unresponsive unless I put the Xbox offline. This has not been fixed. To this day people encounter bugs in Skyrim.

If this delay means a much more, possibly most polished BGS title yet…worth it. As much as I hate this news right now. People here have been saying it’s likely that MS stepped in and said…nope! Whereas Zenimax probably would have said…launch time.

In the end, that would be good news.

People just don’t care. They don’t want to know how ‘the sauage is made’ and only care about the final product.

Would people get a like message or notice before they get silenced/banned? Fair play on the banning alts :+1: Edit: I mean warning lol

We’re not even post pandemic, some studios still aren’t even in studio still.

It doubtful 12 months. Forza came out November 2021, Halo come out December 2022. Forza Motorsprot is probably this fall. Grounded 1.0 release is upcoming which would be a first party game coming out. It may not interest you but would be a first party release. deathloop also will probably come out to xbox this fall, Xbox did release ghostwire tokyo on PlayStation this year so. So if you want to get technical tehy did release a game this year but I realize that wasn’t the spirit of your argument. Stalker 2 situation was unavoidable because of russia being russia.

I mean we also don’t know about a large swath of games or the release schedule of anything. So its hard to be to negative until you see what happens at Not E3. That Josh sawyer game was rumored to be maybe coming out this year. But who can say with all the pandemic delays.

no Starfield is gonna release a Bethesda game, dont get your hopes up too much lol

It definitely will release in a better state than it would have before delay, but that’s a relative standard at this point :pensive:

Sony DOOMED?

Actually I might go properly check out TESO now, after I’m done with RDR2 that is. But there’s plenty time to really check out a huge game like TESO now.

Bans generally don’t occur for first time offenses unless they’re quite bad, on the whole we rarely hand them out and try our best to let the community lead healthy discussion themselves. We send out DMs to people with warnings if we feel their discussion isn’t in good faith/is insulting/doesn’t meet our standards of proper discourse.

lol it won’t be 12 months considering Grounded, Scorn, etc. are still planned for this year. Ya’ll need to relax with that.

They have less than 12 months to live

So what confuses me is all the talk of MS making mistakes, blaming their management etc.

At least insofar as I can see, their only mistake here was announcing a date at all. Giving your studios more time is a good thing, especially when it’s a tried and tested studio like BGS. For example, I highly doubt Zenimax would have given them these extra months.

What else would you like MS to do? Would you like them to be more involved and micromanage their studios? I suppose there’s a balance between being completely off-hand and micromanaging, but I think a studio like BGS would lean more towards the “hands off” end of the scale.

Are you insinuating that I am saying that COVID is just an excuse?

It’s not just pandemic / remote working due to COVID fears. It’s the job market changing where people want to work remotely indefinitely and shopping around for new jobs to fit their desired pay / lifestyle flexibility, too. Hiring can be a challenge and people can be leaving causing some internal slowdowns as new people need to be onboarded and so on. It goes beyond just not adapting to remote work.

Starfield and Redfall probably need more time to bake and polish more than possible turnover, but I can’t imagine it’s helped difficulties. And that’s rippled throughout the industry (even the economy at large).

the disappointment would have been equal whether they gave the games a date or timeframe or not. funny enough. everwild didn’t have an official timeframe, but every time someone brings up the game people act the the devs working on the game have no idea what they’re doing.
