To address some of the “I’m tired of hearing the pandemic as an excuse”, it doesn’t matter if we’re post pandemic. The pandemic happened in the heart of the development cycle. You don’t get back lost time even if things are back to “normal”.
Oh, yeah. I’m sure they will find a game that can carry almost the whole years lack of promising titles like Starfield. Wait, no. That would be a delusional idea.
Yes, I did say Halo was a disaster, this is common knowledge. In the competitive space, it gets half the viewers as a competitive mobile game. Does this mean I’m attacking Xbox? No. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t care about Xbox.
Scream it from the heavens.
People being tired of the pandemic as an excuse doesn’t mean it’s not a valid reason. Literally every developer and publisher (including Sony!) has been affected massively by it and that isn’t going to suddenly change.
Starfield has climbable ladders
Well, last year the same thing kinda happened too With empty first half and then a bunch of releases starting summer. Granted this time we won’t have anything aside COD at the end of the year.
Whatever one might think of him as a person, the dude is a professional. I’m sure he had his reasons, whether it be that it wasn’t substantiated enough, or that it was said in confidence, or waiting for effect, or another thing altogether.
people now looking forward to CoD releases, this is truly the silver timeline.
I am disappointed by these things for about 20 minutes until I remember I own like 700 games and have probably played less than half of them lol.
I sure am. Not ashamed to admit it…it’s a Modern Warfare this time!
Tbh if CoD goes on Gamepass at end of year, all is forgiven with Xbox.
Ps; it’s a shame my last post got censored. There was no swearing or rudeness/derailment. Suppose that guy above was right about having to be overly positive and not question anything bad.
Tarkov mode.
I’ll just play Prey and Skyrim again while I wait for Redfall and Starfield.
I’d even go a step further and say we’re not really post pandemic. At least, not most places.
You have numerous studios that are still largely work from home, barring a few meetings here and there. You have game testing being limited in how many testers they can bring in at once, etc.
BGS has a lot of choice if they want to keep a symbolic release date for Starfield
03.21, Tuesday (Oblivion release date after it was delayed from November 22)
04.12, Wednesday (International Day of Human Space Flight)
05.05, Friday (National Space Day).
If I made some mistakes, I’m gonna change it :
- Ratchet and Clank - delayed
- God of War - delayed
- Horizon FW - delayed
- Gran Turismo 7 - delayed
- FF XVI - delayed
- Forspoken - delayed
- Zelda BoTW 2 - delayed
- Metroid Prime 4 - it’s been a while
And that’s all without taking into account the countless delays we have heard from other publishers. Everyone is being hit.
Some good calls for a release date.
2nd half of the year has Saints Row, Warhammer Darktide, Flintlock, Deathloop (for xbox), Soul Hackers 2, Scorn, Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, Midnight Suns, CoD, and more if you game outside of just Xbox. Lots of others listed but probably delayed like Atomic Heart and Stalker 2. Plus we’ll see what we get at the showcase next month.
That Fallout 76 expansion comes out this year still i think. A good time for me to actually start playing that game. Hopefully that expansion includes a Series X enhancement.
Gran Turismo was delayed, you are correct.
If you catch any type of silence/ban and then create an alt to circumvent it that will result in a perma on your main account. Just a word of warning.
Thanks !
