Plus there are times when you know something is not good enough but there is not a lot you can do other than give it time, which is the story with these delays. The games just need more time.

Wonder why he didn’t leak this stuff when he ‘heard’ about it in Spring 2021. I’m guessing he’s either made it up or waited for maximum effect.

Correct, a mitigation isn’t a answer of the same size exactly, but a replacement to keep customers engaged.

They’re the ones who started a service that lives by content, adding content to it doesn’t feel like a waste to me.

I think it’s the consensus that Xbox really need to hit a home run with next month’s showcase… I mean that’s the basic fact of it.

If you’re referring to me im not talking about criticism, criticism is fine, xbox does need to do better and they need to get a more consistent release schedule

Im talking about some people’s extreme reactions when these thing happen

It already happened with Halo 2 years ago, then the next year xbox had one of its best years ever

im just wondering who actually thought this game was even close to being ready in 2021, and that 2022 release date was just an internal delay and therefore near certain to release lmao, insider bs at it again.

huh? Why would you be embarrassed because a corporation doesn’t have 1st party content? We know what the reason is. No matter how much people want to think that it’s over, this is the time hardest hit by Covid. Most of this year’s big games so far were all delayed from last year, the entire industry is still falling further and further behind. There is nothing to “fix” outside of people’s patience and understanding of how bad it all is, has been, and will be software dev wise.

Holy fuck what a dousy of a shit news drop. And it’s not even Friday. Would not have been even a little surprised about Red Fall, but Starfield too…wow

two things…

1: Never been more happy to not have Progstopper on the forum. Could you imagine him today??

2: Hope you’re happy, Proven. Starfield was clearly ready, but they must have came across your manually flying tangents and how it’s definetely happening and Todd was like, "fuck…we got a problem guys…we’re gonna neeeeed fully controlable space flight!

I have to say that Jason Schrier showed them all up a bit and that includes Grubb if I remember correctly.

That’s not why Crystal was brought in. The plan was always for TI to stay small and bring in development partners to work on the game.

Sony dropped previously delayed games lol. You guys need to stop making this a bigger deal than it is.

As someone who used to be very critical of Microsoft in gaming until they changed their habits, I’m not sure what behaviors we’d hope for them to change for the better based on this announcement. More crunch? A rushed game? More studios? What is it exactly?

Bethesda has been hiring a lot since Microsoft purchased them so they’re getting the resources. They have some of the best employee retention in game development and have a strong consistency track record as a company. Bethesda Softworks, Todd Howard and their developmental process have been consistent for decades. Delays have been the standard in AAA development and this one doesn’t raise any concerns for an ambitious next gen only game.

Is it dissapointing to gamers, investors or anyone who wants to see Game Pass grow? Yes. It’s also fine…in that Microsoft is willing to take a financial hit to ensure the game is better.
