I believe tencent had the ability to own CA fully when they got leyou, but they didn’t and let that contract lapse

For the millionth time, this Bungie is completely different from the Bungie of the Xbox era lol. They are not interested in making their old type of games and they are more focused on making Destiny type games.

I know. That is why I put it as around $8 billion, because I am not sure of the exact figure but I know it was around the 8 billion mark.
I have to say that I am potentially looking forward to the Sony camp moaning about their Mojang and why they seem to act separate from Sony lol.

Sony ending the console war? Heh, oh I’d like to see it but of course not. Nobody should no go act like Sony is drastically changing their ways and what not. As soon as they acquire another studio it WILL get locked down, I have no doubts. This was on Bungie.

Oh yes tell me about it. How Halo is exclusive to PS now…how Bungie is a top notch quality studio all of a sudden or how Microsoft cannot make further acquisitions while Sony will meanwhile buy Capcom, SE, Ubisoft etc. or even how PS can bargain COD with Destiny now

I m convinced sony will buy Capcom. The monster hunter game ms wants says it all really. Dont care for Bungie or Capcom tbh but the people over here that do should be prepared for some bad news coming. I m also thinking ms wants Sony in a good position instead of letting big tech enter the industry in a big way.

About the other big tech I get, but letting Sony get Capcom will mean they will lose out some on big titles going forward and I can’t see Phil being too thrilled about that. I definitely think they won’t just sit by. What happens remains to be seen, but Phil wasn’t happy one bit about the SFV deal and this would be way different on so many levels.
It’s the usual scheme: Sony buys something, people freak out.

Freaking out? About a gaming acquisition? Lol not really i m not 12 you know… I can show you my gamertag and there is no destiny or recent Capcom games i played. Last one was dmc on 360. So yeah i couldnt care less about Capcom or Bungie.
I can understand that but ms cant buy everything so choices will need to be made. Bethesda and acti are obviously way more important then Capcom and Bungie. I think ms biggest fear is Apple swooping in and buying a failing PlayStation.
Sony made multiple Monster Hunter clones for the PS Vita. That did not mean Capcom was selling to Nintendo at the time. MS making a MH clone means nothing in the acquisition land.

Yeah.
I think it started when Grubb said yesterday he heard some rumblings about other big deals, but could not say anything about it and then someone tweeted his speculation that Capcom was next for Sony or some shit.
If any are quoted for no reason its ea and take 2. Capcom however is a realistic buy that makes sense for Sony. I wouldnt dismiss it lust like that.
Okay so Destiny stays multiplat, but there has to be some plan for an all new IP Bungie will be making that will be a Sony exclusive
Otherwise…what did Sony pay over 3 billion for?
They had limited leverage, even less after ABK deal.
