Sony buying Bungie for $3.6 billion, Destiny 2 and future projects will remain multiplatform

Considering Destiny 2 is FTP, and Bungie partially broke with Activision because of it, I imagine Matter will be FTP as well.

They obviously want as many people as possible playing their game and that means you have to be FTP.

For future reference, it’s easier to just use Archive:

Well, sure, if it’s FTP then what I wrote is moot. But that kind of goes without saying. At this point we don’t know what Matter is or will be.

Everything else is owned by a pub already? What about Asobo?

Avalanche is owned by a privately held film company. And Asobo is also private.

Certain Affinity, Behaviour, KojiPro, Smilegate, Wargaming, Valve, ect. There should be more than this.

Asobo still private but the studio, i didn’t list because i don’t think any company would be near them, they are tied 10 year deal between MS and them, but if anyone get them it would be ethier MS or Foucs

CA already in bag, smile gate is a publisher though,

KojiPro could be great ngl

I am pretty confident that it will be a big multiplayer game of some type, because Bungie does not seem to be interested at all in making one and done games, and if that is the case then FTP is the way to go.

They are making the MH like game, right?

Yeah and they pretty much helping every MS game, PD, Halo and Cod

Yeah I see so many comments here and there that they will make a Halo killer, but for that you need a single player campaign too and I don’t know, only guessing of course but I see more Destiny like games coming from them, not Halo.

In the bag of Tencent or MS ?

MS, I’m confident they will join MS

And there we go, another reference to the MS war chest, if only they had realized mobile wasn’t the enemy last gen and opened it then where would we be now I wonder.

ā€œ13 times the annual free cash flow of Sonyā€ says it all really. IF MS fully commit to content acquisition this gives us a good idea of the relative size of the deals we will see on both sides.

Tencent already owned 20% of CA.

It does make me wish I was a fly on the wall during the most recent talks.

I’m sure Xbox also bidded again this time around, however how could they allow them to be completely independent without doing the same for their other studios/publishers. It would have created a bad work atmosphere and I’m sure the price tag compared to Zenimax would have fuelled that even further.

We also don’t know if Xbox has their own shooter looter in development.

Now they will own Blizzard they could potentially make a looter shooter which is massive, or even do their own Halo spin-off shooter looter. Who knows perhaps that’s why Xbox also backed out of the deal?!

tencent owned some of acti-blizz I believe, and we saw how that went
