Senua's Saga: Hellblade II - Gameplay reveal

@Ruthwik_Rao I think they have some post processing, lighting/shadow, or some filtering that’s really not complementing the facial details on Senua. Closeup stills in 4K really show extremely close to 2019 showing.

aah, that’s understandable yeah. Do you have link to those 4K stills by any chance?

Just the video in 4K and pause it in closeups, pause until you get a shot without blurring so you can see the details

exactly what I noticed . There is some post processing going on that is messing with the details .

sadly I don’t have a 4K TV/monitor :frowning:

As I spectacle, I do not know how you can come away from the trailer without being seriously impressed. The game is just oozing atmosphere.

You don’t need lol, on a laptop is enough.

It’s gonna be an audiovisual masterpiece experience for sure. Hellblade was that already with all the limitations they had in resources and hardware, this will go even harder.

Resources especially. I know they said they were looking to make the game with a core team of around 34-40 people, but going off the hires and the size of the studio that might have changed somewhat. Plus Xbox is going to give them pleanty of time to make the game.

Went to take a quick gander at some other sites, and it seems operation downplay is in full effect. That’s how you know things are good :phil_lmao:.

I respect your right to have an opinion, I just don’t agree with it. And that’s allowed  @GavinStevens seems satisfied the visuals match the reveal trailer over on the twitter and his opinion holds more weight for me on tech stuff.

The whole concept of downgrade in games is just silly though, it’s not down grading its tuning, some things turned down some things added or turned up in order to achieve the best result.

As you reffed Ryse it was the same there they dropped to res in order to achieve a better overall IQ with other techniques.

So… reset and gaf only right?. Unless you meant gaming news sites and r/ subforums.

It’s also why developers must hate showing games years or even months in advance because they are still in active development and things can and do change. I think gamers need to accept that what you see it not final until the game is in your hands.

ALL games go through changes form their initial reveal, to actual gameplay, to final form. Some look better, some worse, and in various ways. At the start of any project you want to hook people in and what what you abs your engine is capable of, but sooner or later you have to start cutting a few corners so that you hit targets, be them consistency targets, msec targets, performance targets or what have you.

In the case of the latest trailer, what you’re seeing is then presenting to you a game. Not a movie, like the last. You see downgrades, but I see refinement. DK some things look a bit worse? Yes. Do some things look better? Yes. This is the way.

I think it’s on par with its reveal trailer, and you have to understand that you’re now seeing it more so from a “this is your camera, ingame” point of view and not “this is a cinematic that’s still ingame, but we get to hide everything more”.

It’s still the best looking game to date, and I can’t wait to see more on it. The future is looking brilliant.

Yep, same here. Amazing visuals (all this downgrade talk is ridiculous lol) but this demo didn’t do anything for me, I guess this is the Sony-cinematic slow walk and talk game that people want from Xbox but I am not a big fan of those and also not a fan of the first game so yeah. Hopefully the combat is better this time around at least.

I love how brutal it is. When hella smashed that one poor guy the blood was sticking at her hand and hanging from her to the ground. Bloody

What I know for sure is that Ninja Theory along with Coalition will be the Xbox studios to join in the top tier ranks of the industry in animation and cinematics in this generation.

this scene right here

I mean the initial showing only said in-engine, and that’s already protective against downgrade claims, but it’s still matched by a lot of what we saw in the in-game showcase. A magnificent W there tbh
