I just posted this in the other thread, so sorry for repeating myself - but I’m very curious why the Sega COO says they are “considering” a deal with Microsoft when all the other statements sound like its a done deal.

Definitely interested to see where this partnership goes in the long term.

In the short term, I hope this helps SEGA’s teams push their abilities even further.

They probably have wiggle room to not go through if they don’t think it’s good, wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Funny to see their shareprice jump 6% after this announcement.

Wow that’s a big jump. I hope we get more clarification from MS on Monday.

SEGA: “We do what Square don’t! Now announcing Yakuza Wars!”

This is the exact point I’ve been making for the last year that I go on and on about how it’s so smart Phil has chained Xbox to Azure because now Satya/Phil/Sarah are doing deals like this and it’s making gaming a even bigger pillar of Microsoft.

This is what I want from MS with regards to Japan. Partnerships, contracting, funding games instead of acquiring.

Now get one done with Capcom

So Sarah Bond is a SEGA fan.

Unrelated to the announcement (seems like an Azure thing mostly ?) but I want MS to renew their partnership with SEGA and The Creative Assembly to make Halo Wars 3 after Infinite.

Don’t you dare give me hope

Yeah, they had boatloads of Japanese content on the OG Xbox and the 360 without acquiring anything. With Capcom, they could revive Dead Rising, and it’d probably be good now that Capcom Vancouver is dead.
