No argument with the rest of the post, but I do want to point out that, at least in Nintendoâs case, there isnât any BC. Itâs also a bit of a unique position in that the Wii U was a failure and the Switch is a runaway freight train. It doesnât sting as much to see ports of previous-gen games there, since you couldnât just use the old license on the new hardware (and nobody wanted to keep the old hardware). Plus Iâve seen people talk about buying multiplats on Switch on the strength of portability alone, so thatâs another important factor.
I completely agree and still would much rather see the original trilogy, or even just KZ2 remade instead of HZD. And Iâm saying that as someone who really enjoyed HZD, especially once the story picked up half way through the game.
I think that the Horizon MP project will be one of the 10 or so MP projects that succeeds. The concept of a co-op monster hunter game could be a huge hit if they do it right.
Yeah reselling at full price is pretty sketchy I agree, but their first party is peerless so they can pretty much do what they want. If you want to play them, you donât have any (legal) alternatives
Nah, that was The Last of Us Part II. When you canât ship a multiplayer mode at allâŚstill MIA 3 years later.
I hope Sony is not moronic enough to charge money for Factions or Horizon multiplayer. Iâm going to love to see an explanation as to why we need to make multiple $70 purchases for modes most other games include gratis.
I mean they did launch new games this year and continue to do so. Iâm not arguing that they did get more greedy and abuse thier market position but âcratively bankruptâ is way too harsh to put it imo.
Games like Grounded are sandboxes with a huge replayability value. If you have seen God of War once, why would you want to watch it? At launch it might have a lot users but then what? Who would want to watch to see Krator beating Baldur again with the same cutscenes and moveset?
With Grounded each play session generates a unique story.
Gonna be honest with you. Taking away the good parts of tlou (story) and buidling a game focusing on itâs weakness (gunplay) seems like a super dumb move.
Listening to Greg Miller talk about this on Kinda Funny yesterday was painful. âIts good⌠For Sony!â. Is it? This isnt going to be very profitable, so surely if you are arguing from a profit perspective, there is a better use of time.
