[PLEASE READ STAFF POST] Microsoft says they have committed to Sony that they will keep Call of Duty and other titles on Playstation "beyond the existing agreement and into the future so that Sony fans can continue to enjoy the games they love."

Like Ok I COULD get CoD on Playstation but why are you even planning on bringing Games to Nintendo? Like what has Nintendo done for Microsoft besides this Golden Eye thing thats getting announced?

What has Nintendo done for Xbox to warrant any kind of handout?

I don’t know, they didn’t make any similar statement while acquiring Bethesda.

That said, I really don’t care if these games release on Playstation. Just put them day one on Game Pass.

They’re all in, they’re spending is probably going to reach 100 billion dollars in a few years for the gaming division. That is being “all in” man, come on.

An unannounced blizzard game releasing in 2028 isnt a popular title and has no precedent to release on Playstation. There is no definitive statement on how many or how few games will remain multiplatform

Let me help you, Jess. He’s talking about me

And using Klob having some questions about this to prove he is right that everyone who is disapointed in this, are in no way doing it because they wanted Sony to take a black eye, so their fans end all upset. Which is what I was seeing alot of the disappointment translating to, so I figured it felt console warish of people to act like that. But hey Klob is popular so if he has questions, regardless of how he presents them they prove me wrong

And they also prove I should face repercussions. But since I’m your brother I guess he thinks you won’t allow that to happen. So he’s egging you on to do so.

Or am I making to many assumptions there, Deadwing?

Javy it’s not a hand-out, it’s a business deal. Wait and see what it is and how it manifests. Blizzard and Activision have games on Switch, OW2 will be going there and is stuff coming the other way? We don’t know, no other answer.

Why do I need an Xbox if it will only have Microsoft games on it? If games from Sony, Microsoft and games from other studios that do not appear on Xbox such as Persona, Final Fantasy, etc. will be on PlayStation.

And what is the difference why games from Activision can be released on PlayStation and games from Bethesda can’t? And the employees at Bethesda itself are unlikely to be happy when they find out that Microsoft allows its other studios to release games on PlayStation and at the same time forbids them to do the same.

They couldn’t wait atleast until after Phil getting the award to release the ‘controversial’ announcement?. I know some fellow die hards that are still in meltdown mode.

The majority of the Xbox platform is 3rd party titles, same as any other console. What you’re saying does not, has not, and will never match reality. Also, we don’t know what ABK games will release where yet, so we have no clue what the differences are or aren’t right now.

People can facepalm all they like

It’s Xbox that are creating this narrative, by not going in one definitive direction you open these conversations back up again, why is this exclusive and this not? It’s just confusing messaging

Other popular ActiBlizz games will remain where they are.

CoD, Spyro, Crash, THPS, Diablo and Overwatch.

I think if the plan was to bring EVERY ActiBlizz game to other platforms they would have simply stated so. So it seems new IP possibly could be Game Pass exclusive.

But moving to Bethesda, why is Starfield not multiplatform then? Skipping PD5 simply will have them missing out on plenty of money too. This is where it brings confusion for some and I get that.

As for the leverage thing, I honestly can’t imagine either that Phil didn’t discuss their money hats strategies, of course he was well aware of that power he had in his hands here. But who knows, time will tell.

Poderick, I really don’t know or frankly care about whatever friendship/relation you have with a mod…

Stop finding conspiracies where there isn’t any…

I honestly can’t believe I’m being accused of egging on anyone…

As stated previously they cannot say what is or isn’t exclusive until they own the company. Same as the Bethesda situation and they clearly answered that at E3 the moment they owned them.

I thought were were passed this and had figured it out? This isn’t a valid line of reasoning anymore.

Hello mate, Microsoft has allowed one of its other studios, Mojang, to release games on PlayStation for years - long before the Zenimax acquisition.

There is zero evidence that this will mean all first party Xbox games go to Sony just like there was zero evidence of that with Mojang.

No, this doesn’t indicate anything about the Zenimax deal. The blog post going into detail is focused entirely on ABK. In fact, the closing paragraphs specifically suggest this will not be the case.

What’s confusing?

XGS: Exclusive

Bethesda: Exclusive

Mojan: Multiplatform

ActiBlizz: deal still not close anyway for them to fully disclose what they’re gonna do, but have now said they’re gonna put them on PS/Nintendo.

They want money. They don’t give a shit about what Nintendo does for Xbox. Consoles will be an afterthought once they realize their dream of Game Pass on every device.

They want Game Pass to be like Netflix/Disney+/Prime Video. An app you can load on your phone/tablet/pc/console

Sucks for people who invested so much money into the ecosystem but looking at their office business it makes too much sense for them.

Anything could happen at this stage. I mostly expect them to remain multi, but the wording is still vague

Sorry, but Sony would have even more reason to bend over to the regulators if they were the buyer.

Alright then, I’ll take your word for it

And I will attempt to stop this from being any longer of a thing on my end. We disagree about how some are reacting, or more-so why they are reacting that way. Lets leave it there
