Playstation Showcase OT: NOT ACTUAL GAMEPLAY

I agree, there was a distinct lack of upcoming first-party games.

Come on now. We’ve heard that before.

They just had their biggest showcase in what 2 years ? The next State of Play will mostly be for 3rd party games or they’ll show Spiderman again.

The games these first party studios are making take time. We’ve been through this already.

Ah okay

Almost like people can’t just wrap their heads about what happened, and there has to be something behind.

I would have believed that Factions would have been ready to be shown later this year before Bloomberg dropped that article. Dunno what else they’d have ready at this point.

Sony having a mad rough week.

My, my. How the turn tables…

I’m expecting at least two State of Plays in the second half of 2023 but another showcase this year? Possible like 2020 but unlikely in my opinion.

Keegs takes credit for all shows unless they opt out. Hence why Xbox, PlayStation and Ubisoft are listed. No guarantee any show at SGF Kickoff.

If there’s a small game demonstration on a lunch break in an office building in Timbuktu and it takes place during the summer, gEoFf will claim it as part of SGF.

Dramatic but ok.

I saw someone on Twitter who said he hasn’t been able to play games since the showcase because of the mood it put him in and that what happened with Factions is “what happens when you don’t crunch your devs”

It’s similar to the one I heard earlier that because of the showcase, gaming is officially completely no longer for us. Sony is into GaaS, so now gaming is no longer about single player. What?

When that showcase happened, i will admit part of me thought i was going to enjoy the Schadenfreude that followed. But its just become so dramatic and nasauting.

I know im preaching to the choir, but its clear these people dont want games, they just dont want other platforms to have games.

when you showcased 10 gaas but 1 single player 1st party at your event after 2 years, it’s understandable why some (if not alot) think that the PS’s vision is now split and generating negatives from those who used to play and cheer the platform for their own 1st party single player strength.

But clearly they held back because they didnt want to look too strong for the CMA (/s)
