You absolutely are! I sure have been using it as a reminder of the dichotomous nature of games journalism/gamers for months now. Where are all the articles/narratives about shit management or problems with Sonyās output⦠because last I checked, thereās going to be nearly a year before their next non-MLB release if SM2 actually releases this year.
Thatās the strong point when a third party gets announced with game pass day one perk. Put it this way, if PS twitter does the same back at Xbox, it will be easily countered by folks saying āBut Iām getting in game pass.ā
Speaking of which, lack of PS+ day one games here hurt.
What can I say? Looked great to me. I have no complaints and im sure that it will look amazing when I end up playing it on my LG CX OLED. Any issues now im sure wonāt exist when the game launches.
Maybe people are expecting too much? PS4 was insane for visuals so itās not that big of a leap this generation. For me, itās going to be 10/10 in visuals like most games this generation. The main draw this generation is 60FPS and ultra fast loading times. Maybe Ray Tracing to a much lesser extent.
I think it easily looks better than Miles Morales. The evolution is being able to traverse multiple boroughs and switch from Peter to Miles at certain aspects or perhaps at any time. Iām not 100% sure. The on rails segments are action sequences. Theyāre in most games nowadays.
For me, Spider Man 2 is my #1 most anticipated game for the second half of 2023. Iām definitely hyped!!!
I would also add that last year would have been really dry as well if the likes of God of War hit their original dates and were not delayed into 2022. Granted they would have had an amazing 2021, but as we can now see they would have had a long stretch of nothing.
Bringing Xbox into this, I think it just shows how hard it is to get a consistent release of big AAA games.
Tom Henderson now saying that he saw trailers that were ready to go but Sony intentionally held back from the show. Heās not saying what they are or anything about them, but he definitely saw them.
Because apparently living in a reality where Sony has a slow 2024 is just too painful
I know that the on-rails segments are action set-pieces and are in games of this ilk. My point is, they didnāt showcase well in this trailer.
Being able to traverse multiple boroughs and switching between the characters might be an evolution to these games, but considering weāve done it in GTA 5, around 8 years ago, I just wasnāt particularly impressed by that.
