It’s true, if Xbox only posted CGI they would be annihilated in the media.
Insomniac usually don’t miss but it’s a valid point! I’m hoping both Spider-Man 2 & Wolverine goes to PC day one (doubtful I know).

Wait, Marathon is going to be an extraction shooter? Ah Christ. I thought it was a single player FPS. What a waste.
Lol. Sorry.
This is the only piece of Spider-Man media I’ve ever liked. Great movie.
Did he tag himself?
so… Tom Henderson claimed that the games people were expecting to shown-up at the ps showcase are pretty much “ready”. yeah sure.
Really tired of “insiders” hyping up a show and then falling back on excuses like “oh I heard it would be good but something changed”
You need to keep the cult united…
I’m like 99% sure that got said for the previous showcase.
We’ve already reached the point where people are saying not to worry because there will be a second showcase soon that this time “actually will blow your balls off” lol
Damn.
It’s pretty obvious when insiders know stuff, things get leaked out. There is a competition between insiders like Tom and Jez, if one guy says the showcase is fire, the other guy has to say the same or it looks like he isn’t in the know.
In this case most of them joined the fire bandwagon despite not knowing much besides MGS and DD2.
They need to stop pretending to know stuff all the time, and that’s where the main problem lies. Insiders trying to one up one and another.
I get that Marathon had a single player story in the past, but I’m surprised anyone expects anything single-player from Bungie these days. The company is built for multiplayer live service games and they are great at that thing. Single-player Bungie has been dead for a while now, no?
That Concord trailer was like the Contraband trailer without Steely Dan. Shows how music can really make a positive impression.
I guess Project Q landed with the thud that we all expected it would, huh. The only thing I see getting real buzz from the showcase is Spider-Man.
I haven’t really played Spidey nor MM, but how big visually is 2 a improvement? It certainly isn’t on par with the announcement trailer, damn.
The games shown were all quality looking games or sequels to games that are surely good (Talos Principle II, Mirage, MGS3 Remake, etc). But these were all third party games really. Spider-Man 2 and Helldivers 2 look great, but that being it from Sony and with zero release dates is tough.
If Xbox put out a show like this they would getting cooked to hell with all the CGI and no dates and basically no first party and a bunch of live service games.
Helldivers, Marathon, maybe the other games like Haven’s and Concord coming to PC as well is likely to rustle some jimmies because for some reason those don’t really count because pushing consoles is all that matters.
This is a pretty universal reaction across communities, but it is amusing to see the “Wait for 2024 it’ll be great” comments coming out and now people spreading a message that there needs to be a second showcase lol.
It’s a ridiculous take but someone has to fuel the perpetual hype machine, so he’s the guy it seems.
There wasn’t a single game shown last night which I want to play. Maybe the Ass Creed Mirage thing but only (a big only) when it’s much cheaper & once I’ve finished the other Ass Creeds in my back catalogue.
The rest was all completely disposable. It’s reaching the point (aka the state of the industry) where I can barely name a handful of announced game titles I’m somewhat ‘hyped’ for going forwards. Starfield? The next Mass Effect? Elder Scrolls 6? Maybe the new Dragon Age… & whatever the next Resident Evil is.
But that’s all really. Nothing exclusive on PlayStation for sure, which is wild considering I was crazy about the brand 10 years ago.
He’s also the guy that confirmed the ps5pro rumor as well right?
Just a note here on Metal Gear Solid 3: a remake is borderline insulting considering the actual core messaging & goals of the original games.
It’s like when Raiden was sent into the Big Shell in a recreation of the Shadow Moses incident, we as gamers are now treated to a recreation of the Snake Eater stuff… just for the amusement of ‘The Patriots’ (the money people at Konami).
It’s a bad joke. Metal Gear is a creation from an auteur, aka Kojima. No Kojima, no Metal Gear. And if we did get a new Metal Gear, it would have to respect the themes & intent of the originals, not simply recreate a pre-existing game just to make some $$$.
