Before Sony started making all these deals, even for an Xbox only owner these shows were still interesting because of the multiplatform games. But now with every cool looking game we have to wait and see if it’s tied to some deal or not or worse, in the case of FF7R we don’t even know if the damn thing is even coming to Xbox, lol.
I’d like to believe the excitement by people like Jez and just in general is because great games will be shown, not because of exclusivity. Because when it comes to Xbox it’s looked down upon, but Sony…“what a great move.”
This is why I can’t be excited, if you don’t own a PS console you’re essentially screwed (and then 80€ for each game), with MS shows you can always use your existing device and play the games you see for cheap. It’s equally annoying seeing Xbox fans downplaying the bad consequences these moves have for Xbox, or that MS seemingly can’t put a stop to them, I think even ladt gen these moneyhats weren’t so many.
People really like making fake lists, huh? They don’t even know that GT Sport is the old one, not the new one, lmao. Anyway 20 titles for 40 minutes are too many, for comparison Xbox show had 30 titles in 90 minutes almost witbout any break.
Yeah, the downplaying I don’t get either. I mean sure if it truly doesn’t matter to you personally that’s fine, but it’s definitely a problem if it gets worse and MS doesn’t really have a plan B or C against it. But that remains to be seen. I can’t imagine Phil not seeing the importance of Xbox getting big multiplatform titles on release day as well and that GP day one a year after Sony is not the way.
And assuming a bunch of new deals will get announced, do we think the majority of that will be Japanese games? Or also like from a THQ, or whoever acquired that company?. Bioshock from Take 2 is a likely one.
That it’s not the way, I can assure you, you’ll see it with Deathloop and Ghostwire, which are guaranteed to land on Xbox (who knows when and if the SE games will arrive, there is no certainty), the hype for the games will fade away quickly after PS launch and then 1 year later they will be old news, I don’t think that MS can market them as big games for the platform, it would be a signal of weakness.
IDK, anyway Embracer group IPs are not that big to warrant a moneyhat, the biggest they had was announced at Gamescom. Japanese moneyhats are possible, even likely, MS is all in with acquisitions, but getting japanese games is still absurdly difficult.
Can people please remember that there are three console manufacturers all doing well and all with quite significantly different business models. For one or the other to do well doesn’t mean failure for the second or third. 3 thriving business models should be celebrated, not talked down or dismissed.
