Business is business. Sony can’t compete right now with a Game Pass equivalent or with an acquisition on the scale of Bethesda, so expect lots of moneyhats and timed exclusives on games that you would expect to release on Xbox now being PS exclusives.
If this is going to upset you or make you angry it might be best to get off the web for a few days, lol
I mean who cares what others think ? Xbox should just do whatever is best for the fans.
Other fans will get mad for a week and get over it lol. The outraged folks on social media don’t represent reality.
I’m not saying they have to moneyhat every single game but if they do one or there every couple of months, I’m not gonna be mad in the slightest about it. Or be worried about a PR hit.
Ms aren’t afraid. They wouldn’t have bought vethesda otherwise.
But they also aren’t stupid
Why bother doing a shitty 6 or 12 month deal that costs a lot of money and not a gamepass deal that would cost a 1/4 of that and still be on playstatjon?
Ms don’t need timed exclusives. What are they achieving by doing timed exclusives? Prioritize gamepas deals. Or deals that help get those games into your ecosystem.
The whole point of Sony doing timed deals is that they wanted people to buy ps5 over series consoles but that’s irrelevant as both consoles are selling out.
Ff7r deal was for bragging rights. It had no impact on their sales for ps4. If that game had come out for xbox. It wouldn’t impact anything except make some Sony fingers cry and bitch about it. Game would still selling 5m plus on ps4.
I don’t give a fuck about MiB but Wipeout is one of the best Sony exclusives, if it comes back it will be really cool though I doubt today’s Sony will fund a project like that. A patch for the PS4 Wipeout game is more possible IMO.
Crash is a great series as well but I don’t see it being full exclusive, let Sony waste money on timed deals we will get the game anyway. I am not gonna give Sony money for a timed exclusive so let them do this crap for all I care.
You shouldn’t care about twitter/forums fanboys so much. This doesn’t translate to real world.
If persona is not on Xbox is more of Phil’s fault than Sony’s. In terms of exculsives Sony does what they think it’s best for them and their business.
Normal people will always have preferences but in the end if you offer a great product they will buy it no matter if they like sony or whatever. if you do a bad job then they’ll punish you. It showed with Xbox 360 and then Xbox one and the opposite with Wii u and then switch.
Ms doing something to appease fans is also stupid. They should do it if it’s right for them.
Again money hatting timed exclusives is a waste of money. They cost a lot. More for Ms. Japanese studios will charge Ms 10x more for timed deals than Sony. They’re not stupid they know their gsmes sell better on ps.
So rather than throw money down the toilet to appease fans for timed deals. Appease everyone who isn’t a Sony cuck and do more gamepass deals. It would be cheaper and ps fanboys can still play it on their own system. But pay full price.
Seriously some of the denial and defending over MLB was hilarious.
Haha sorry I wasn’t talking about you specifically but other people saying they’re afraid of making exclusive deals like Sony. I just used your marvel example
Its not about being afraid. Thye just don’t see the point and is a waste of money
Like I said before. These exclusive deals cost more for MS than Sony. Why would ms pay 400m for a ff16 exclusive deal that Sony would get for 50m??? Its not about being afraid. Don’t make dumb business decisions like that. Sell your own gsmes and then pay money to get ff16 on gamepass.
Let’s get something real here. A lot fo these games Sony are paying huge sums of money for Wil come to Xbox eventually and be cheaper as a package when they come out.
No they can’t. Having the money doesn’t equal being able to afford. I have enough money for a tesla. Doesn’t mean I can afford one or it makes sense to get one. Yeah Sony have the money to buy ebthesda but in the grand scheme of their business it’s not fina cially viable for them to buy someone like bethesda. Same with Nintendo.
Why do you think Sony do timed deals? It just makes better business sense for them.
Getting a game after x years of PlayStation exclusivity and throwing it into gamepass doesn’t add that much value if your goal is to attract Sony consumers or gamers in general.
And again, it’s Microsoft job to create partnerships and relationships with developers.
That’s my issue, people downplaying the effect of these deals. Sony gets for cheap what MS gets buying a publisher. There must be another way, no? Why some Xbox fans are so avert of the word exclusive, many people don’t even care if MS got Bethesda exclusive “as long as they are on GP”.
Worst case scenario Sony has a big amount of big and interesting games as timed exclusive, knowing them it will be a full year. And this continues from here on out every year, that cannot be good for Xbox and that can’t be their intention.
So there has to come a point where Xbox starts doing these deals too, not the two month ones, but the ones that last a year. Hell, The Medium was exclusive for a year wasn’t it? How long will The Ascent be? Ok, smaller game but still.
And you’re right, take for example a new BioShock comes to PS5 next year and Xbox gets it a year later, but on GP. Cool for those that waited, but for those with both platforms will just have played it on PS5 by then. Game Pass will then solely be great for XGS titles day and date and Indies and every now and then a bigger title like Outriders.
But that’s a worse case scenario. I think MS is still very much hoping to get some big third party games on GP, I just hope they are NOT ok with it being a year after Sony though.
Sony will most likely show projects that are really early, they have done it many times in the past and this will probably be a “hype” show so FF7R: Part 2 is not out of the question.
