Playstation Plus revamp announced, Jim Ryan explains why Sony cannot currently offer day and date games in service

Looks like Persona 5 coming out of the PS+ Collection, I never thought of those as temporary for some reason. I wonder if the PS+ Collection dies in favor of rolling that content into Extra

I guess that would explain the second mention of GoW, as if it was a new game added to the collection.

But I think they mentioned that they keep PS+ Collection in Essentials?

That generation because PS had so many more consoles sold yes. However, 5-10 times more is an absolutely ridiculous number that you did no research on.

For instance Halo 5 sold 9.5 million copies as of 2019 so it is very possible they exceeded 10 million by now. Halo MCC sold 8.4 million as of 2018. Gears 5 sold 8 million. Sea of Thieves had at least 7 million in sales according to 2021 data. None of these are 5-10 times more.

Now if you want to say that PS sold more last gen because of the huge advantage in console sales uo to 3 times more that would be about right.

This generation that is changing thought based on the disparity between console sales shrinking.

It’s more like game within the collection will leave rather than the collection itself.

Also don’t forget PC releases. And those sales numbers are quite good for the console that sold 2.5 less.

I think you failed math. Lets say a sony game sold 10M copies. There is no xbox games that sold 1M?

I was actually hoping sony would come up with something interesting but they did the most boring thing possible. We need other companies to push MS.

Didn’t blue ray ultimately win because it was the format Porn choose to support?

blu ray “won” because the major movie studios threw their support behind blu ray. But in reality digital streaming really won.

It’s certainly appropriate given the current direction of Sony management. I hope at some point Sony fans get sick of being abused and exploited by them and grow a back bone to stand up to their crap.

Yea he is spot on, I find it really WEIRD that as consumers we are always told to give Sony the benefit of the doubt instead of judging them while with Xbox they are always in blast mode no matter what they do.

Why the world always wants to handle Sony’s crap with kid gloves is beyond me and just makes the bias more obvious.

Because they’re preconceived for years to be the best brand for gaming, marketing goes a long way in this regard.

People need to learn that they aren’t the best anymore, but word of mouth can only do so much for that.

Yea, like I mentioned in another thread I posted Sony is NOT the “Market Leader” anymore and people are really slow to realize it.

If Xbox keep things on track with releasing great first-party game, this will change over this gen naturally, it’ll take time, some 5 years.

sony was the market leader? I thought that was tencent in terms of revenue and nintendo in terms of console sales

Yep, it’s an uphill battle but right now they have the talent, the budgets and the hardware to bring their A game on. Phil knows what he is doing so I am betting on Xbox delivering big time this generation. :gimme:

Playstation was pretty dominant from 2013-2017 while Nintendo and MS were both messing up. They are seen as the de facto good guys by many and are trusted as a “pure” company who is in gaming for the “right reasons”.

PS was rising for staying committed to gaming while the other two were fumbling for their bad decision, whether it’s marketing or miscommunication. When you have other two doing well because of what PS is doing, it’s a tie game. Now it leads to “what else you got,” and that’s where Xbox advantage lies in.

Halo 5 Sold about 15 million. This number comes from vgchartz though, it’s the estimate they made after Microsoft announced that Halo series had crossed a milestone in sales.
