Real self-parody move. It’s almost like they’re deliberately trying to illustrate the point that graphical leaps peaked with the base PS4 version of TLOU2 and it’s been diminishing returns since then.

I thought you were being a little harsh toward Geoff but here he is running defense already

I love how even IGN are knocking on it.

A PS4 game running at 60FPS…

Lol he’s so far up Sony’s arse it’s unbelievable - he only pops out to worship Kojima.

I’m pretty fed up with most of the media nowadays, it’s fun to see some finally realising how bad a “no competition” landscape for Sony would get…

Yeah I have to say that Gran Turismo one where they said “look at this ray tracing” - I’m pretty good at spotting it as I am a fan of RT, but I couldn’t tell at all lol…

I really appreciate that the 4K reveal video that Sony uploaded to their YouTube just happens to not have any of the gameplay footage in it.

Must’ve changed when i was viewing it earlier today. I was seeing a bunch of people trying to talk themselves into it

Also surely he must spot that even adjusted for inflation, the only one that comes near is the PS3 who’s launch price is considered a major mistake by Sony

The Pro better not be bigger than the base PS5. I didn’t see anything about a size reduction.

You know, now that Sony has two separate hardware profiles within the same generation, I wonder if we’re going to keep hearing about what an incredible hardship that is for developers. Or, if that talking point will just magically disappear…

If the rumor for next SoP to be focusing on third party games for the sake of showcasing Pro’s power, how in the world would we know the difference from base and Pro, let alone from competitor. Are we going to do side-by-side comparison for all trailers?

The latter.

And if some games don’t perform as well as people expect, you’d think they’d blame PS5, just like S is being blamed for Starfield launching at 30fps for example. But that won’t happen either.

The difference is that devs won’t be required to develop for the PS5 Pro, and to be honest I can imagine a significant amount of developers (the ones that aren’t first party or in partnership with Sony) will just not bother. It’s not looking like it’s going to sell a whole lot and support for the PS4 Pro was extremely lacklustre. Why waste all the extra resources?

Nintendo probably feels pretty safe about the Switch 2 right about now. MS and whatever they are cooking up for Xbox hardware too.
