Yep, I saw people blame Xbox for it as well
Would have bought the Lego Horizon Adventure game on Xbox Series X but PlayStation 5 it is. I wonder if it was meant to be a launch title for Switch 2.
Knottian and Pepperidge Farm, both remember when this guy was telling everyone here to chill about the doom and gloom for Xbox releasing multiplats, because Sony’s CEO admitted on stream that a multiplatform approach was being accelerated. I also remember all the bad-faith disregarding of that piece (and leaked data from insomniac) and being constantly told that The Show didn’t count, or Destiny, or Marathon, repeat ad nauseam.
What this tells all the fanboys is that both Sony and Xbox are proceeding with the same general approach because they have to. Also like I said in regards to the media response, Sony is literally following the Xbox playbook to a T… just five years behind the curve.
Bingo… it’s all so predictable and the media pivot comes at such a whiplash speed, you’d be hard pressed not to think it’s coordinated.
Lol… with my setup I don’t have a choice. I have 3 consoles stacked on top of each other (on separate shelves.) Looks alright when they’re all black rectangles - Series X, PS4 Pro, 360. But that PS5 is gonna look ridiculous.
At least the Slim isn’t quite as beastly as the original, though.
Love the Lego Horizon trailer! Looks like a good time.
Core first party Sony IP is coming to Switch though, so that must mean the PS5 is dooooooomed! Right? Anybody? Is this thing on…?
Yeah… it’s one ugly mf’er.
I don’t really think it’s the same. It’s a LEGO game after all, and not on Xbox.
They finally could have shown some class and letting Xbox players in on the fun. Because while idgaf about Horizon, Lego games ARE fun. Sony is fine with Nintendo but Xbox? Ah hell no.
Meanwhile MS/Xbox is like, here Sony have all these games and God knows what else they got planned. Sorry, I just find it so fucking annoying.
Sure, but considering PS has been following Xbox’s strategy more and more… it’s not all that different anymore.
Plus, I can see a late port coming to Xbox since it’s a LEGO game.
Yeah, I love LEGO games. I’ll get it on PS5 eventually.
Just think about what percentage of Lego playing gamers are on the three platforms and it’s kind of obvious why it is going where it’s going.
I’m sure they just didn’t think they could make money on Xbox, that makes sense. I just think it’s funny that multiplatform is clearly the future, even for Sony… but there always seems to be a reason why “this particular game doesn’t count.” Like it’s clear what direction things are moving.
It’s a bit off to equal it to what Xbox is doing now. Will Sony do the same in the future? Maybe, but not now and I find it odd to “call out” people when the situations are not the same.
A bit… baitey.
Nintendo with the tons and tons of young players makes sense, for sure. But don’t lego games do well on Xbox too?
Also, wondering, could it maybe have been a requirement by WB/Lego to include Switch?
Sorry if you felt like I was calling you out - not my intention. My main point is that it is a matter of when, not if, considering where the industry is going.
This is where PlayStation are that little bit smarter they value PR they’ll go so far but withhold it from Xbox just so there isn’t a total meltdown and make everyone think they are 1 upping Xbox by withholding it
Where as Xbox doesn’t do good PR and instead jumps in by sending stuff to PlayStation and making themselves a punch bag for ridicule
It’s obvious where Sony are heading but they know how to spin the narrative
Instead of the story being PlayStation games going everywhere instead the story is it’s not on Xbox
Smart and very well done they know their audience and know it will be used to beat Xbox over the head on how they’ll never get “their games”
This. Wouldn’t be shocked to see it get delayed and become a Switch 2 launch title.
If this was a Lego Halo title launching Day 1 on Switch I don’t think we’d be talking about why it doesn’t count.
