Stellar and Death Stranding. I dig how weird they are. Maybe Ronin separately, too, but that’s because I enjoyed Wo Long in Game Pass last year.
Never played DS but the trailers always look interesting, beautiful at a minimum
Glad to hear it , much like last year I was personally let down again.
Looking forward to the new Judas game though.
I hadn’t seen this, i.e. the wording of that Tweet is hilarious. It makes it sound like it’s good news.
Back in the dark days of prior remasters, trophy & achievement lists could be re-earned. But I guess a new list was too much to ask for in a $10 upgrade.
State of Play was good in general. I already own a PlayStation 5 and will be buying the PlayStation 5 Pro later this year and im hyped for Ronin and Stellar Blade in March/April respectively.
Agreed. I felt like there were only a couple examples of games in there that I felt should’ve etiher been dropped or shortened down.
Aside from the PS Studios/second party stuff, Dragon’s Dogma 2 looked absolutely wicked. Probably won’t pick it up day one, but definitely will keep an eye out for it.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 doesn’t really appeal to me but it looks great. I had no issues with any game that was shown. They had a few AAA titles, a few Indies, a few AA titles, a few live service games, a few VR games and a few first party games so they nailed the show in terms of what they showed. While most games weren’t for me, I had no issue with any game that was shown on the State of Play.
What do we know of the PS5 Pro? I’m very out of the loop on it. Is it releasing this year?
The rumor is this Fall
Really? That soon huh. Just in time for… certain games. That’ll be interesting.
Have we got any info on specs or anything like that? Or is it still all rumors?
It’s all rumors as of now. My guess is November 2024 release. I’m expecting it to be more powerful than the Xbox Series X and cost $600 which is fine since I will be trading in the PlayStation 5 console that I currently have and perhaps something else to lessen the cost.
I am expecting an announcement in September to coincide with the PlayStation Showcase and yes, I do believe this will be the one everyone was expecting last May.
Ill buy one too if it costs $600 and runs GTA 6 at 60fps.
It looks like November will mark my full transition to the PlayStation for it to be my primary console with the Pro and where I will buy my digital games from then on, Since I can trust SONY to continue to make consoles and stay in the game.
Yeah, we’ll see. I do wonder if the Pro will have an upgraded CPU or if it will be all GPU/graphics based.
Yeah, my friend has been a PlayStation guy since day one in 1995 and has never had any worries or concerns regarding consoles or exclusives because he knows that’s the entire business model for Sony in regards to PlayStation.
Didnt realize foamstars was not on PC. Square is really the dumbest third party publisher in the world.
That FF7 Rebirth showcase took me from hype to unreasonable levels of hype.
Yeah, I like how they’ve aped the LAD series in making the side-content more varied. I need to get back and complete Intergrade at some point, hopefully in time for when the PC version of Rebirth is out.
It won’t have a CPU upgrade, it will follow the previous Sony model for delivering a mid-gen console. It will be the most cost effective solution that will meet the USP they are trying to hang it on.
Expect something along the lines of the PS4 pro (aimed at native 4k but in reality never really designed to deliver it).
I still don’t think they will release it though.
Which we now know for sure (insomniac leaks) is not a sustainable business model they can’t go on spending as much money as they do developing their first party exclusive titles.
So for sure something is going to have to change and it’s already in motion as we’ve seen from the failed push into GaaS and the constant stream of remakes/remasters from their studios.
Its not unrealistic to expect that either they will scale back production costs on their first party titles (lower quality, shorter gameplay etc) or the big expensive ones we see every six years or so now will be delivered less frequently while their teams work on cheaper quicker projects to fill in the revenue gaps. And I guess there’s a 3rd option charge people more for them which they are not adverse to doing but I guess given their market position they could probably get away with doing that on top of either of the first two
I agree with you except for the not releasing it part. Why don’t you think that Sony would release the PlayStation 5 Pro?

Looks like Circana is stopping the Portal being counted as a console sale
