Difference is one actually respects their userbase through a free upgrade, while the other charges them for it. Also, Gears 5 next gen patch is still the same game but with added visual fidelity. I have far more respect for MS’s way of doing things instead of nickle and diming us for every little but of cash they can.
Stellar Blade looks great. Want to see a proper gameplay walkthrough and more info. Thinking it releases in the summer.
Stellar blade reminds me of that Epic mobile game, Infinite Blade. Just more stylized graphics and 4k. It will probably be a shallow game, but great for a short clip marketing beat.
Bloodborne is an all time GOAT though.
I’m not exaggerating either. It’s literally one of the best games ever made & a total classic of the souls genre.
That automatically makes the PS4’s first 3 years superior than the PS5’s. There just isn’t an equivalent on the current gen Sony console. Nothing like Bloodborne. Nothing that will have a cult like status in years to come.
Bloodborne is one of my lower From games, the blood vial grind can go to hell
Once I got past Father Gascoigne, blood vials became plentiful. If you grind just a little bit for the blood stone shards (& twin stone shards), you’ll get bucket loads of vials.
I also find Bloodborne to be one of the most forgiving souls games. The hunter’s axe upgraded + the right trigger heavy attack staggers most enemies. It’s a lethal combo.
I basically still keep my PS4 hooked up just for Bloodborne & an occasional playthrough.
Really frustrating that they nailed it so perfectly with Dark Souls and regressed to a system in bloodborne that punishes the player for their mistakes.
I haven’t been able to get into Souls games yet personally. I tried Dark Souls Remastered but bounced off. I need to give Elden Ring the college try though to see if these kinds of games are for me or not.
Yes. In fact according to the definition used here, every performance patch and DLC is a new title.
Stunning desperation.
If there is one Souls game I’d actually recommend for beginners in the genre, it’s The Surge 2.
This is just my opinion but it’s a game with the same very addictive gameplay loop (which Souls fans love) & contrary to a few other Souls games, it gets much, much easier as it progresses due to how the upgrades work (cutting limbs off enemies basically to grab their gear). The final boss is a breeze & it’s very satisfying. After that, you’ll be ready to take on the more hardcore titles.
I always recommend The Surge 2 in any Souls conversation. The science-fiction setting sets it apart as well.
Surely we are going to get some first party announcements soon, right?
Any longer and we will need a remake of this classic:

Trophy hunter be damned.
Didnt enjoy DS1 at all but Kojima got me with that trailer
Not for me whatsoever but Death Stranding 2 does look awesome.
No lie that SoP slapped. Considering buying a PS5.
I surprisingly enjoyed it.
For which games?
I bought a ps4 purely for DS, I might end up buying a ps5 for DS2, I just wish I cared about pretty much anything else in their library
