Yeah, they really have to scrape the barrel to inflate the PS releases in that list lol.
Honestly, I didn’t look too closely before distributing praise. Good eye!
Now that I look closer, I do see a lot of DLC and director’s cuts. Are these supposed to be first party? Did Sony own housemarque at the time? I have a vague memory of that acquisition taking place after Returnal launched?
Let’s diverge off the list-warring console-war nature of that tweet (we can discuss the deficiencies - or strengths - of Sony, or any other party, without stooping to that level).
To get things somewhat back on track, I have been spending a lot of time with my Vita recently (was one of two systems I had with me at the hospital) and I’ll never stop gushing about Freedom Wars. If you like Monster Hunter/PSO types, then this will definitely scratch that itch.
Absolutely gutted when Sony closed down the team responsible; some of Japan Studio still exists in their remaining studio over there, so maybe one day we’ll get a sequel on PS5 - it was a major hit for the Vita overall.
My apology but my intention was to showcase the releases and the more I look at it, I can see why the noises are louder on PS5 than 4 especially when One did start good, it was belittled to no end, while Series is more like “That is so 2013” and actually has defense. Point is, the complaint for PS5 outing is getting to their skin.
I totally understand, no apologies necessary, just wanted to get things back on track before someone embraces the warring side a bit too much
I feel most of the time, Ps plus catalogue is just gamepass leftovers
They acquired HM the next year after Returnal released.
These are essentials though, so pretty good
Isn’t it a “tradition” that first quarter or maybe so PS+ titles tend to be strong? I could have sworn the same happened this year.
Sort of makes sense, start off strong to draw in folks from the Holiday Sales, then show strong once again when it’s time for the yearly renewals, meanwhile forgetting all the other months.
That’s technically true. It’s probably why the growth isn’t happening as they would hope for.
PlayStation’s 1st party attach rate is abysmal, for how many consoles they sell.
It’s because the vast majority of people who buy a PlayStation do so to play only a few select titles and they are not first party offerings for the most part.
I remember seeing something ages ago… it was that low a percentage I couldn’t believe it. Off the top of my head I believe it was less than 20%?
It is there way of doing GaaS
You can not deny that Sony is much more capable of making any remaster release an event unlike MS.
Gears 5 next gen patch and Ghost of T. DEfinitive Edition are very much alike in terms of work, the second appears as a new release whereas the former was barely noticed.
always said MS main weakness is marketing.
Agreed, something like Hivebusters would’ve gotten a lot of hype on Playstation. The game was their miles morales, but Microsoft didn’t market it to make the game a big deal, so many didn’t even bother to check it
