Like Shinobi said, we know exactly as much about Sony’s lineup as we did before the show. Nothing.
This is something I really did not expect at all.

What hurts aside from cgi trailers is those new games from Sony are GaaS. At least last year with Xbox, it varies from survival game like Grounded to outer space Starfield. Not to mention, none of them tell you what kind of game they are. Marathon, you can say it’s FPS. Others we don’t know.

Yeah… but that was a known “more of the same” game too. This was incredibly disappointing as someone who only play exclusives on PS. Like I said earlier, glad I have a backlog…

What this showcase showed me is that the stories about dev cycle being longer this gen is true. This was supposed to be their major show and at least show one of these games TLOU: Factions, Stellar Blade, Wolverine, Rise of Ronin, Ghost of Tsushima 2, Death Stranding 2, etc. Also, this showcase showed me that Sony may not be able to have the same kind of timed exclusive deals pull that they used to have.
Anyways, I feel these next few years will be Jim Ryan’s real test because he may have gambled on live service which is a very risky venture. Plus, it seems their first party games may be far from their expected release dates.

It got to sting to see two new Sony IP having more or equal thumbs down ratio on YouTube. Project Q also got one as well.

Of course, it’s more of the same. It’s a sequel. Just better. Far bigger, far better looking and I love that you can switch between Peter and Miles on the fly. My PlayStation 5 is only for console exclusive games as well and this is one of them.
Thus far for me this generation when it comes to showcases, Sony leads 2 to 1 but Microsoft has a chance to tie in two weeks. If they just show 5 first party games, they already match Sony’s show today and I would think that they will give me more than 5 games. Of course, in fairness, the Xbox showcase last year only gave me 4 games so in all honesty, who the hell knows at this point. Just have to wait and see.
Back to Spider Man 2, im hyped for it. I loved the first game and Miles Morales. Hoping for a November release date so I can get through AC Mirage and Alan Wake 2 first.
I’m guessing Stellar Blade has been delayed to 2024. The only thing I will say is that im pretty certain that Sony is part of Keighley’s Summer Game Fest so it could be shown there. We’ll see. If not, then 2024 looks likely. PlayStation 5 wise for me, if that gets delayed to 2024, I’ll have that, Wolverine and Rise of the Ronin which isn’t bad at all.
I expected a lot more beyond Spiderman.

Oh. You meant from the showcase in general. I agree 100%. I thought you meant that you were expecting more out of Spider Man 2 itself.
