PlayStation 5 |OT| This SSD has no limits

Also pretty interesting words by Jimbo:

Speaking during a business briefing on Thursday, SIE president Jim Ryan said that expanding to the larger platforms, and in particular committing to releasing at least 12 live service games in the coming years, could be “transformational to our business”.

“PlayStation Studios historically has executed wonderfully in the delivery of a strong portfolio of narrative rich, graphically beautiful single-player games, but it’s certainly the case that we have restricted ourselves to a rather narrow portion of the gaming market,” Ryan said.

“By expanding to PC and mobile, and it must be said… also to live services, we have the opportunity to move from a situation of being present in a very narrow segment of the overall gaming software market, to being present pretty much everywhere.”

I’m glad that by 2025, the ratio of existing franchises and new IP’s will be 50/50.

So how will they increase there revenue from 80 M in 2021 to 300 M in 2022 on PC as per their growth chart?

Gow:R releasing day and date on PC🤔

My prediction since September 2020 has been God of War Ragnarok in March 2023 for PS4, PS5 and PC day one. While GOWR could release this year, I still see the PC release being day one as a huge possibility and if not, within six months from the PS4/PS5 release.

Its pretty weird even more now that we now they are not counting Destiny 2 in that revenue, because even if you count GOW, uncharted LOT, Factions 2 and whatever the other game Jim Ryan said is coming (lol at those saying helldrivers 2 will be big) the numbers still doesnt add up.

They either have a huge slate of games coming to PC this fiscal year (not unlikely as the nvidia leak suggest there are some coming “soon”) or they are massively overestimated the appeal TLOU factions and the other unknow game could have in the PC community.

On the good side, it seems more games will be coming to PC:

50% PS5, 30% PC, %20 Mobile.

On the bad side…it really seems SONY is all-in with GAAS:

Gotta ask…didn’t people blame gamepass and xbox for leading to an industry full of these kind of games? What will be SONY’s excuse this time?

good shit .

Seems like God of War Ragnarok may release September 30th which is good for me. Gives me three weeks to play through Steel Rising first and gives me 3 1/2 weeks before Gotham Knights. Hoping this release date is true.

sept 30th is a trash date for me . Extremely close to exams :sob:

For me, it’s two days after my 44th birthday so I will have a week off to play the game. Hehehe. But look on the bright side, the game will be waiting for you when you finish your exams.

Always thought you are younger

Hahaha. I wish I was.

Release live service games with lots of microtransactions day 1 on PC.

I always though it was a September release.

Yeah, it’s definitely looking that way. Hoping Sony has a PlayStation showcase in June during Summer Game Fest and give it an official release date. Definitely hoping for September 30th as that works out pretty well for me. All I need is Plague Tale Requiem by mid-August and Avatar in mid-late November and my late summer/fall 2022 will be set.
