Its almost like Sony doesn’t want their subscription service to succeed

Just came up with a possible explanation of why PlayStation originally claimed there would be 700 games in the new service.

What if they are including in that number total every monthly game that has been given away through PlayStation plus?

I think I cracked the code. I haven’t heard anyone postulate this theory yet.

Look…i dont want to keep bandwagoning all this negativty towards sony but is the list of ps2 games being released ps plus just thr same ps4 emulated ones? What in the actual fuck?? Someone like me was semi excitee for this lazy ass service because i thought sony would get off their ass and provide more of their backlog. Theyve done fuck all.

So what was the point of this service???

Was it just to advertise game trials? Absolutely shocking. Theyve just CRTL+C then DEL opened up new document and CRTL+V again.

Also you add a bunch of outdated ps1 games that are horrible to play but you cant even put Legend of Dragoon on there for day 1? How does this company still have fans. Jesus. Ive liked ps systems in the past. But sony are on a new level of pathetic.

Its like they didnt want to actualy compete with GP…just trying to trick people into thinking they were.

It’s really just 99% a rename/rebrand of what PS Now already was, despite the pipe dreams about it being much more than that.

I am optimistic that support for PS1 and PSP emulated games will expand over time. It’s awesome that the games will be available for separate purchase instead of locked to the subscription service.

^^^^ I cynically predicted this is what they would do over a year ago

One thing that really annoys me is that my digital PS2 digital games wont be honored because they were purchased in the PS3 era instead of during the ps4 era.

If you want my advice. Only make PlayStation purchases that you are okay with considering as “temporary”. The PlayStation ecosystem has a history of making you repurchase games, upgrade, or simply drop support of entire generations. Any games that you want to keep forever should be purchased on Xbox or Steam.

I mean I only have a PS4 Pro. No desire whatsoever to get a PS5 anytime soon

The only reason I’m interested in this Premium service is how its gonna work on PC…can I play Returnal on PC?

Also yes I knew the service would be half assed…but cmon. PAL??? PAL versions of games?

I lived in the UK most of my life…I know what it was like to buy PAL versions of games. They were shit.

Is it a mystery? They said there’d be 700+ games on the service, according to google there’s 700+ games on PSNow as is. Some games are leaving the service, some games are being added - it seems about right?

LEts be real. The ones leaving will be the ones coming back later.

The only new games will be Ps5 games/ And how many PS5 games will sony add this year? Probably half a dozen.

269 games for the service in a region where it launched without PS3 game streaming - which makes up a majority of the games available on the service. That obviously does not represent the actual number of games, especially when the point of your article is one region specifically getting less.

That could be. My stance is that we should expect a reduced lineup. The reason being that the original PlayStation Now was filled with games that stayed in the service perpetually and I believe the reason for that was it was essentially the first service of its kind and contract terms don’t seem to favor third parties. I think with a new service we should expect the library of games to shrink considerably as the price has gone up for Sony to add games to its subscription service.

I’m not expecting 700 plus games.

Sony being Sony . Indefensible.

I ‘think’ they may have reversed this, but since Sony never makes a statement it is hard to tell.

And Sony being Sony means its hard to tell if this might happen again in other regions when PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra service launches there.

Bwahahaha. Give us money baaacck noww! This is nintendo levels of entitlement.
