I might give Kena whirl if my system ever gets here.
PS4 Pro for me baby.
That thing still has some life in it.
Plus a bonus, turn it on and use it ambience jet engine noise when playing Flight Sim.
Kena is timed exclusive right looks kinda fun like a kid souls game lol
I got rid of my PS4 Pro middle of last year. The PS5 is stuck in shipping limbo. Apparently the nearby distribution center is a package vortex. It scanned in on 9/15 as arrived at the warehouse, hasn’t come back out.
Agony. Hope that clears up soon, Searsy!
Thanks! I’m just mentally preparing myself for the inevitable battle with FedEx and GameStop when it never arrives.
I usually don’t post links to discussions on other forums or cross link discussions, but reading additional statements from the developer after that article came out makes me refine my statement about Ember Labs. They are beyond simple actions of small startup business and are using predatory behaviors to use, abuse, and discard others.
Here’s @ProgStopper 's post from community thread with an otherEra link.
I was skeptical but it looks to be pretty good. I’ll grab it on Epic.
Game Informer Review - 9.0/10
Skill Up Review - Recommended
Watched all three reviews and vast majority sounds great. Said to be tough on the highest difficulty levels. Pre-ordered the game yesterday. Will download it when I get up in the morning and will play throughout the day. Really looking forward to playing Kena!!
Already downloaded and installed Kena: Bridge of Spirits as well as F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch, The Takeover (2D beat em up on PS4/PS5 BC), Ghost of Tsushima DC/Iki Island expansion and Final Fantasy VII Remake PS5 since the upgrade was free. I may but the Yuffie DLC but have to look into it more.
So far real good scores, especially for a new indie team! Sounds like a lot of the game design is a few decades outdated though. Surprised about the platforming complaints. I kinda assumed a team with top tier animation talent would be all in on platforming for some reason. Seems combat is kinda ‘fine’ and platforming can be weak, but other elements are great.
jesus christ 2021 is getting tougher by the day for TGAs lol
Didn’t see that coming, great debut for a rookie studio.
Another example of don’t judge on the pre release alpha footage of gameplay…
Have to agree with what the XboxEra Podcast said about video game reviews giving out 10s like candy. It certainly tarnishes the meaning of what a transformative game should be in order to earn it.
I think it’s more so that there’s so many reviewers nowadays, more than at any point in history that are also able to talk to each other while reviewing a game. You’re bound to get similar reviews in a sense.
It’s still harder than ever to get a 90 + on Metacritic or Open Critic imo.
Really confused why Kena got so little coverage leading up to release and gave out so few review codes
Apparently it’s great, so why did they hide the thing like you do with a game you have no confidence in and just want to salvage some launch sales by keeping as people ignirant your game sucks as possible?
The more who review it the more of a chance getting the 7/10 reviews, like PushSquare gave it and less of getting the 10/10 reviews like DualShockers gave it.
