Kena still hasn’t shown me anything to justify why in a sea of okay-looking AA games, people have pinned all their hopes onto this one. I fully think it’s going to be the next Call of the Sea or The Medium-- it comes out, it’s not bad, people have their 8 hours of fun with it, and in a year no one remembers it existed.
Very odd for there to be absolutely nothing happening the two weeks leading towards its release. Extra odd how the marketting push from Sony completely stopped and is non-existant now.
I sort of expect there to be disappointment around it now, and perhaps it would hit the EGS free game offer in a few months. All that without even seeing how it fairs with gamers, because of how quickly it’s been dropped.
Because it debut in a state of play ps5 showcase highlighting pretty graphics and everybody loves a good indie story.
I think all of the controversies around the game kinda killed the buzz for it media wise
Kena had controversies?
It really is Pixar Dark Souls
And now I’m even less interested in it, maybe even entirely disinterested.
I vaguely recall that initial story.
I was looking for reviews of the game but haven’t seen any genuine reviews, just a fluff piece on Push Square. It releases in under 34 hours (Midnight EST Tuesday) and nothing to be found.
Oh wow, I missed this Kena stuff. Ember Labs’ management sound like assholes.
The only actions which seems in bad faith is their response to the story denying it but that’s what I expect all companiesto do. All the actions described by the developer seems par for the course dealing with small startup companies.
I certainly don’t miss my days of that in the early 2000 – promised performance by objectives making up 50% of your salary being removed entirely, company profit sharing turning into optional “bonus” (pronounced bone-us), evaluating everyone based on lowest tier market positions when everyone was doing Senior or Lead level work, no appreciation for sustained 60-80 hour work weeks for months on end, virtual shares of private company being turned worthless through new class of shares being created, upper levels of management taking complete credit for work done by the teams. In the end your only recourse is to leave and find work elsewhere.
Pls don’t lmao, I really don’t see any dark souls in Kena. There’s just a dodgeroll.
Watch the game footage and see for yourself lol, it plays nothing like dark souls. The combat pace is much faster, there’s no stamina whatsoever, Kena is running all over the place, there’s a magic bow available to use at all times and a dozen other things it doesn’t do that is integral to souls games.
It’s far more 3d Zelda than souls imo
Lmao yeah this was recently revealed.
And I think @Shpeshal_Nick reassured wipeout fans this isn’t the game he was talking about
1st Kena BOS review
5/5
I Don’t really know this site. Just stumbled upon.
Well I can see why that site was one of the few to get a review code
But its exactly what I was thinking.
That reads they re-phrased some marketing bullets and then Google translated it into English. I’ll eat some crow if the game gets perfect scores but not from “Ultimate of Times.”
Make of this what you will, but a review won’t hit until Launch. I can’t tell what the tone will be.
