Persona 3 Portable, 4 Golden, and 5 Royale Coming to Xbox Consoles, Cloud, and PC

You can bring up the map of the palace with RB and it will tell you if you have all three will seeds or not. I think that’s really the only missable thing in the palaces (and I believe you can buy them later from Jose even if you do miss them).

The post festival party, I wanted to ask are there any consequences for not going with Haru? or is this similar to not going with Ryuji and Mishima in Hawaii? Is it just a way to get closer to earlier Haru as the story progresses?

1,980 yen so basically ~20 bucks like Persona 4 Steam.

Oh man P3P will be fucking PERFECT for Xcloud. Hopefully i can finish P5R in the next month.

The bundle is up for pre-order. 39.49 USD, or 19.99 for each.

Personally, I’m going to hold out hope that they’re going to do a Rewards punch card and wait to pre-order. It’s a good idea to offer a bundle to sell more copies of P3P, since I assume that’ll be the least popular of the 3 games. Not sure how great it is to only offer 50 cents in savings but I’ll take what I can get lol

Shame theres no Physical bundle with both. I did buy the Royal Steelbook would absolutely love to buy 3 and 4 together.

But Knowing Atlus they’ll probably sell these physical copies for Switch only a year later or something.

I’m not going to buy them Digitally tbh as I can play them on GP. Unless they come with some incentive deluxe content. Thats why I bought the Physical P5R…

I actually got reminded by a buddy that it seems like we haven’t got these punchcards in a while.

We usually get one for getting an achievement in a specific game instead of buying it nowdays.

With that said, if we don’t get it you can still order a couple days before release too.

Yeah, it’s a bummer but they’ve really pared down their Rewards offerings in the past year or so. Even the sales punch cards give much fewer poins! I really thought we’d see a pre-order one for P5R but nothing doing. I’ve decided to just wait for the day before release until pre-ordering the rare games I want day 1 .

Though they did just add secret Rewards points in the Xbox app for me (US) so who knows what the hell they’re doing.

Well, a little north of 150 hours later and I’m finally finished Royal.

An absolute masterpiece, no doubt. I think on the whole I enjoyed P5 vanilla and P5 Strikers together more than P5 Royal on it’s own, but it was still a worthwhile experience. Maruki, in particular, was just a really well done character and I enjoyed basically every scene he was in. In fact, the social links outside the main cast - and their connection to Joker - are IMO the best in the series.

The plot of the third semester never reaches the dizzying heights of the OG in pacing and impact, nor does it leave the Phantom Thieves in as satisfying a position as the end of Strikers, but it’s pretty decent all things considered. Tacked on, but could have been worse.

Kasumi turned out OK in the end, but her confidant came far too late to matter. She didn’t get as much development thereafter as she should and her sudden disappearance at the end made me thankful I didn’t go down the romance route with her.

The biggest downside was definitely Akechi, who didn’t need nor deserve redemption and ultimately never got it despite the game trying it’s best. Mercifully he’s a small part of the game and cast and the strengths of Royal completely outweigh him.

I’d say P4G still manages to come out ahead for me on a personal level, but P5R is a very close second and I’m looking forward to taking on the NG+ superbosses some time next year. Hopefully by then we’ll have Strikers on Xbox/Game Pass too.

This is an unfortunate but necessary evil since P4. I do appreciate that it’s much more fun to have the character get more abilities as you increase their social link and I wouldn’t want to go back to the way it’s done in 3 but I do think that the Ultimate Persona/Awakening aspect is less rewarding when it’s what you get for maxing them out.

The plot-bound new resolve the characters in 3 get is much more satisfying to me, and ties into their individual stories rather than being the capstone to a secondary, usually weaker character arc.

I romanced her, and it was jarring that she didn’t show up on the last day at all.

Hope you’re right!

Ok, this has got to be the weirdest game mechanic in my opinion, running around mementos to do a request, and its flu season. Right now, I’m just running into lower-level enemies, and they instant die give me XP, Money and even join my team. So, I’m leveling/grinding for doing nothing!

Edit: I went from lvl55 to lvl61 with Joker, lvl62 with Futaba and the others are close to 58-59 in the hour since I learned about this mechanic. It’s really a very weird mechanic.

That’s actually a Ryuji (rank 8) confidant ability. Makes grinding trivial and you can even get the Chihaya money bonus from it too. Pretty game breaking all round.

Yeah, definitely broken. It makes me think that it should have been a temporary thing, because the grind is going to be too smooth with this ability.

IIRC, the ability used to be worse, this is definitely a step up. Only works on green shadows, but I think that includes everything but special demons by the time you hit level 99.

Yes, I’m very curious if it’s going to be an easy list like P5 Royal, or a hard one like P4 Golden.

Does this mean that the optimal way to play the game is just level Ryuji’s confidant to 8 early and just profit? Because playthrough #2 is a go as soon as I finish #1 if that’s the case.

On NG+ you keep your levels etc anyway (and there’s really no point doing a second playthrough as just NG as you miss the super bosses and some unique personas)

The most optimal, from a gameplay perspective, confidant to max asap is definitely Kawakami for the free time, followed by Chihaya (helps level all other confidants) Ryuji (rank 8 Mementos hack) and Hifumi (party switching and money boost) in roughly that order.

Youre right about Chihaya. Makes elvelling confidents trivial. I will do. NG pls anyway. Reckon i could speed run it very quickly while maxing everything.
