Movies and TV shows thread

Watching ep 15 of Dragon Ball Daima and I can see why some people were turned off immediately by this episode or even decided the series wasn’t worth watching afterwards.

Edit: The stupid ball was used very heavily to make the demon army an actual threat, lol. I get they need to build up drama and are trying to stretch out the series for 20 episodes, but man it really throws you off when everything on display doesn’t even compare to Goku fighting the Red Ribbon Army. Well, enjoy the series and will be here until the end anyways.

I’m not sure who owns the Sleeping Dogs IP anymore.

Activision, Square Enix or Embracer.

Yep, looks like they’ve got a hit.

I don’t like the 50’s styles used, as compared to Fallout standards it looks bland.

I just got done watching terror on Netflix and the rig on Amazon and both were pretty good

If it’s your only subscription and depending on your viewing habits, it’s still worth it compared to pay-tv or buying titles. We’ve just been spoiled by the “introductory” prices in the past. (Similar to Game Pass.)

Personally I’m sticking to the Standard tier, since I can’t really tell the difference. (48" OLED.) Not worth the extra €6 to me.

That said, there’s obviously better value to be had elsewhere. Especially since most other services offer discounts occasionally or cheaper yearly subs.

I really enjoyed the first season of the Rig, but haven’t had a chance to start the second. I am glad the quality is the same for it however!

This looks great! First Marvel movie I’ve been interested in since Endgame.

Resident Alien

What a fun show this is. Been watching season 1 almost non stop since yesterday. Sick with the flu, perfect show to just chill on couch, doggie with me and let’s go.

Also!

BB and BCS are phenomenal, so I will absolutely watch this. And Rhea is awesome as Kim in BCS. Promising!

Alan Tudyk really was the best choice for the lead role! I can’t wait for the next season to start!

Young dude at the local Harris farm markets here said my beard makes me look like Thanos, led me to sayong doesnt he think Captain this n that, marvel DC, Super hero left, right and centre etc… is completely saturated in todays market, with everyrhing that’s released being something of the above, early 20’s guy at the latest said he can see what i mean but he loves it !

What do u know, im just a Thanos lookalike !

This show is a gem. I just finished Season 3 a few weeks ago. And yeah, Alan Tudyk nailed it. Love it!

Oh absolutely! His awkward acting as a human is just so hilarious, he does it very well. Or when he makes the alien sounds, man that cracks me up. It’s so damn enjoyable as a whole.

When I saw season 2 was coming to Netflix in March I thought damn, now I have to wait. But then turns out Prime has seasons 1 and 2 and season 3 I can watch via a site. But it’s apparently only 8 episodes? That’s odd, S1 is 10, S2 is even 15 or 16.

The lower episode count happened with a lot of shows due to the writer strike.

Ooooh, that makes a lot of sense.

So maybe the last season this year will have a lot more again. I hope it’s not the last but IMDB says 2025, so it seems it’s ending this year.

In the biz, they would say it’s “on the bubble”. Not officially renewed or canceled. They’re probably waiting for next season’s numbers before deciding. Unless I missed an official cancelation announcement…

Hopefully it gets a proper ending, no cancellation. I just checked to see what else the creator made and I see he did Family Guy too, wow. I haven’t watched a ton of that, some episodes here and there but at times that kind of humor was not for me, I guess somewhat tasteless but also just not funny, to me, Resident Alien doesn’t have this problem at all for me. Really dig the humor and I don’t find any of the characters annoying either, it all just works.

Anyone watched Captain America: Brave New World yet?

I have been putting it off due to the poor reviews and after now watching it, I must admit I side with the critics’ on this one.

I personally think it would have worked better as a TV minseries similar to Falcon & The Winter Soldier. The writing was poor, the pacing was all over the place and I couldn’t care less for any of the characters. There was also some very odd comic book logic in this one which just detracted from overall scenes.

The one thing I really did like (while staying spoiler free) is how it connects the storylines from The Incredible Hulk (2008) and Eternals (2021) which upto now have been oddly ignored (especially the part from the Eternals finale).

Dragon Ball Daima has debut it’s Super Saiya-jin 4 transformation and the animation was beautiful through out.

I have plans to watch the final 2 episodes together, to get the full conclusion right away. For the most part I enjoyed Daima, with only the couple of episodes(14-17) that could have been a single episode or completely cut out being the low point of the series. As it stands I think toei will continue making dragon ball animes into the future. It does of course make me wonder if they would ever continue the story for Dragon Ball Super, following along with Toyataro’s continued work.
