Movies and TV shows thread

Why does a write up for Mad max Furiosa say ‘The origin story of renegade warrior Furiosa, before her encounter and teamup with Mad max’.

When everywhere else says this movie is after the mad max time line

EDIT: Im watching Furiosa only now, so if the movie explains it, pardon me

Did they make this movie off of the Mad max video game, its insanely similar, brilliant

After Mel Gibson Mad Max but before Tom Hardy Max.

I’m really looking forward to this.

I’m a big fan of these spoof style films, I remember watching ‘Top Secret’ on repeat as a kid (RIP Val Kilmer :disappointed:).

The Minecraft movie was not great, but nor was it as trash as I expected. The CGI characters and locations were nice, some funny stuff there too. Those are its redeeming qualities.

When it comes to the actors though, trash, forced humor, really not an addition at all in my opinion.

At the end of the day, I’m not familiar with the IP at all, barely played it, if at all, so for real fans it’s definitely nice I’m sure. Still, minus the actors. :joy:

Is it just me or does this news literally kill all excitement for the film for anyone else?

I personally think Sweeney is a terrible actress.

My excitement has gone from a 10 down to a 1, however I’m still hoping this is false.

Just got out from seeing Thunderbolts and it’s fantastic! Definitely a return to form for Marvel and I’m pumped for Fantastic 4.

Yep they really knocked it out of the park with this one.

I’ll keep it spoiler free but they do explain the asterisk.

The action scenes are fantastic and there is a good mix of comedy. I wasn’t sure the dynamics between the characters would work but they definitely do. Make sure you stay until the very end!

Has anyone been watching season 2 of Andor?

I loved season 1 but I’ve been waiting for all the episodes to release before I binge season 2.

So far for me it’s been a big disappointment, way too slow and disjointed. I’m now at episode 5 and I was really hoping it would pick up but alas not yet..

I finished it last night and loved it. The first two episodes were slow (just like season 1) but after that it’s been full throttle. I had to put on Rogue One right after it ended.

I’ve made it through the first 9 episodes… somehow. There’s one interesting scene per episode to keep you hooked, and the rest is just boring soap opera.

I know it’s a highly-rated show. But I really don’t get it. Andor himself barely even features anymore.

The new Mission : Impossible is finally here starting this Saturday. It’s said to be Tom’s last MI movie, this should be damn good. Dead Reckoning Part One was great.

I’ve finally given up, I got to episode 7 but this season just isn’t doing it for me which is a real shame.

I’m really looking forward to it, as you say it’s quite bittersweet though .

Interesting… I hope that Kylie Minogue has a cameo :joy:.

We’ll talk once you’ve seen it as well.

Don’t worry. Nothing happens from episode 8-12 either.

I just finished The Pitt on Max. I can’t recommend it enough! I have been searching for a replacement for the hole it left, and nothing has quite filled it. ER is a close fit, but hopefully I will find a better fit this weekend.

So, Elden Ring has it’s director and I myself only want a movie about the events surrounding Marika’s ascension.
