wut, the main character fails a ton in that series. there’s no “white savior” approach to it

That’s most of Hollywood

Never said they didn’t fail, and never said it was a “white savior” story, it is white-exceptionalism though, and that’s on top of the reason mentioned above (which, I think is an absolutely valid reason).

Sure, but if a person happens to be openly sharing Zionist propaganda, then I am easily inclined to not bother with their work.

Absolutely, it’s just so hard to avoid on the whole. Which sucks.

Yup, it is definitely hard to do so.

I think realistically there is a reason anyone can find to not read/listen/watch most content creators.

For all we know our favourite actors/directors/authors could have an opinion or done something that we personally don’t like and we wouldn’t support them if we did. However as we don’t know them personally we would would never know.

We all have different opinions and takes which we will not agree with, some just relate to different life experiences.

E.G. there is a religious group which have a big presence near my home which have always caused us issues (including trying to force their way into our home!), therefore I typically paint all their followers with the same brush (even though I know I shouldn’t). As an atheist I personally don’t understand any of the religious divides but that’s just me.

Nosferatu

Ah man, I was hoping i was going to love this. It’s not a bad movie at all, the setting and atmosphere is great as is the case with all of Robert Egger’s movies but just like with The Witch, The Lighthouse there is something missing for me and I can’t put my finger on it.

I didn’t like Lily Rose Depp’s acting, didn’t think it was very good, while the rest of the acting was fine. Nosferatu himself was fine, but I didn’t find his presence very menacing, or creepy. I did not recognise Skarsgard at all though, so damn good job there. But when he spoke in English, he sounded a bit off, a bit, goofy? That’s probably just me. When he spoke in the other language he sounded more…menacing I guess.

When it comes to Dracula movies, Bram Stoker’s remains the better one for me, by far.

The Witch is probably my favorite movie of the past 10 years. The Northman was all right and I never did get around to seeing The Lighthouse. Really interested to see how Nosferatu is being received.

I personally loved Nosferatu. So many shots that just ooze style in a way most movies just don’t anymore, coupled with fantastic acting…. Eggers clearly loves his craft and he’s one of the best newer directors imo.

I had no expectations for Dexter Original Sin to be good at all, but it has surprised me in a rather good way.

The actor playing younger Dexter in his 20s does a damn good job, really damn good actually. But that goes for the whole cast really. It’s kinda crazy how alike they are to the original show. And in terms of story, suspense, it’s way better than I ever thought it would be. Nice!

I haven’t seen it yet for my country, but if they do, I’m gonna cancel. There’s a limit to this shit. It’s high enough as it is.

currently watching Dandadan and really enjoying the show, it’s got some great animation and To a Kinder World had me crying at the end. I was already expecting something tragic, but damn if it didn’t rip my heart out.

Also watching Arcane, currently in Season 2 with the beginning of the conflict of the season(which is technically just the old conflict resurfacing once more). Again, really enjoying the show and what’s been going on I’m guessing the last episode I watched was what’s going to lead to that spoiler I got a while ago.

Also just Started Cells At Work! It’s pretty much Ozzy and Drix as it’s the Anthro morphing of human cells and showing them running a city, it’s kind of strange that the platelets are all kids who are in charge of doing all the construction. Currently on Ep 2, so I don’t know how much I like it yet.

Severance

What a unique and cool show this is. Three episodes in, starting to understand more about things and wow, yeah this is original for damn sure.

I have been catching up on anime I want to watch and have been hearing about, I will be watching some movies later.

So far, Dragon Ball Daima started out pretty good, but I think number of episodes they gave the series is working against it currently. As the last 2 episodes I watched are kind of being drag out more than they should, and I feel they could have cut a lot of the stuff happening to have them be a single episode. One thing I will say though is that the animation has been pretty on point, the art style looks great in stills and in action, and the world building being done is a mostly breath of fresh air even with some of the things going on contradicting the series that takes place after Daima( Shin and Koibito).

Dandadan is damn good, it’s just consistently good through out imo. The biggest failing is the same one so many shows with romance have, the constant creating of drama by having misunderstanding happen. But I have to admit the character relationships likely wouldn’t have as impact without. The animation is great, the monster design are pretty neat, the emotional stuff that hits for me.

Just wait

It’s one of our favorite shows in the Knottian house.

I have a question for you and I’ll post it in spoiler tags.

I’ve now seen six episodes.

I’m really digging this, the mystery of it all, keeps you guessing, the acting is great, the story intriguing, but…i would be lying if I said I fully understand how the Severance process works.

So for example,

the Mark that works at the office has no idea what the outside Mark’s life is like, right? So let’s say his working day is over and he steps into the elevator does this process change him into the outside Mark? How does this exactly work? Unless this gets explained later on, I think I’m a bit puzzled on it.

Because in the episode I watched yesterday we see Dylan in his house, sleeping, but he gets woken up by Milchick, and we see that Dylan has a son. Did Milchick go to Dylan’s actual house? This scene confused me. Because it now seems that office Dylan is aware of outside Dylan having a son. But how did that happen? As in, what did Milchick do so office Dylan now knows about his son?

Also, why haven’t we seen the outside life of Helly, nor the others from the team except Mark?
