I was talking about how PS fans reacted to MLB the show. They started a petition to fire Jim Ryan. I think that’s pretty much over reacting.
Why would any sane Xbox fan fire Phil Spencer??!?
What the fuck is going on in here now?
Who derailed the conversation?
Oh sorry ! My bad. PS fans could be quite toxic some times for sure. It’s not that big of a deal in the end. If you see Playstation twitter account, there is just the usual antagonizing and stupidity. I don’t think it will affect them.
PS3, PSP and Vita servers closing is much much worse for the brand I think.
I don’t think Xbox has to do anything right now. But of course, their under scrutiny. MS and Xbox always have been…
Unless Sony is an IP owner of MLB or the publisher the devs won’t be able to collect the data. It is akin Amazon collecting the data from Netflix and Disney+. It would be a serious security and privacy violation if any of these will leak. Losing license and possibly not having access to any IP will be the least of Sony’s problems there.
I mean as an example I develop medical applications and have access to the production servers (we are basically PaaS providers). If I ever try to get the access to the data without client’s consent…Oof. Not to mention analysis of the data, which is even worse violation.
Ubisoft games will certainly come first.
Okay, thank you for your response. I was thinking more like hours played or ingame datas from players. Every game gather datas from players nowadays, so I was thinking that it would be valuable to Sony to have access to datas from Xbox players, especially knowing that many of them would be game pass suscribers now.
It won’t tell them much about the suscribers of game pass in general, but it could still be valuable informations. I don’t know, maybe not. I’m really scratching my head about why they would do that kind of deal, unless they have been forced by MLB. It seems like we don’t have all the details right now.
Holy shit I was close to buying it too, haven’t played a baseball game since Acclaim used to make them. Good work Xbox really stupidly good value.
Yeah I’ve seen some of it on YouTube and stuff, where if Starfield was made multi-platform, people would be wondering why the heck MS bought Zenimax to begin with.
But I think there’s going to be a difference in how severe that reaction is because of the history of both sets of fanboys. Starfield isn’t a long-running exclusive series on the Xbox, and it will be available on GamePass on date one for Xbox fanboys. This will help calm those folks down. With The Show, it was a long-standing PlayStation exclusive… And they’re having to pay $70 for what Xbox fans will get for “free” on Gamepass. I think this difference in situation will result in a more subdued reaction from Xbox fanboys if Microsoft made any new Bethesda games multiplatform.
And I use the term fanboys to delineate between most fans and then the few that would actually take offense to Bethesda games being multiplatform. I personally don’t think they should be made multi-platform if Microsoft wants to remain competitive, but if it is there’s no skin off my back. I’m just elated that I can play it day one on GamePass.
How is this the same? Bethesda games ain’t coming to ps. Sony fanboys will have to come to terms with that.
So Microsoft should put Bethesda games on PS because Sony fanboys are going to have an online meltdown if they don’t? Sucks to be them. They can buy an Xbox a s quit crying.
The value proposition of Gamepass vs $70 gets so much attention in the media as we saw with Outriders and MLB the Show. If I am MS I would step on the gas and keep making 3rd party deals like that every month until the end of the year. It just draws so much attention to Gamepass and brings people into the ecosystem.
Ms have full control of their games. They aren’t going to put them on ps
Sony had 0 choice. It’s not their license.
While I agree I would rather they spend money on helping their 1st party grow.
Its one thing to throw money at 3rd parties but that isn’t the solution in the long run.
Sony couldn’t care less about sports games. All they care about are ‘deep narrative single player cinematic experiences’.
Lol if they didn’t they wouldn’t be making MLB for 10 to 15 years
Or buy the marketing rights for FIFA or sponsor the Champions League for decades. People always like to underestimate the popularity/influence of sports games.
Yes but from a Sony fanboy perspective they only really care about God of War, HZD and Spiderman. That is their ‘holy trinity’ that must never come to XBox.
Spider-man could as thats a licensed ip
