All the attention around the game is now piling up in Xbox’s favor too. There is a very real possibility it reaches more players on Xbox now than PlayStation. Would be interesting if that happened. Doubt we would see PR about it though if that did take place.
Imagine the game running better on XSX (very well could!), being GP day 1, AND MLB coming out to brag about GP boosting its reach as the most engaged sku at some point…that’d be savagely bad PR for Sony.
Wait til every Game Pass game can be streamed using xCloud while it dl’s in the background. You’ll no longer need to wait on a dl to try something out.
That would make it even worse because it is one of Sony own studios developing the game, so it would be like cutting someone open and pouring salt all over the wound. Very painful.

Phil has already said what’s going to happen. There is some legacy games and contracts that will be honored. Other games are exclusive unless game pass is on said platform. The rest of the discussion is trying to spin it around, although Phil’s wording was pretty clear. We’ll see later this year anyway, but don’t be shocked when Bethesda games are PC / Xbox / Xcloud only. Case closed.

Oh I know, but I’m referring to how ppl engage with Game Pass specifically in this case. I think being able to play immediately is gonna radically change how ppl view Game Pass for the better. I think it (along with the expansion of GP into various other devices) will make GP reach mainstream attention beyond Xbox and core gamers. ‘Netflix for games’ is pretty damn compelling when you remove the barriers around dl’s and whatnot.
Agreed. The amount of positive attention Xbox got from this move can be replicated by making more and more Bethesda games exclusives.

I was thinking today : could the game be a trojan horse for Sony, to see what happens from the inside, what are the real metrics for a game on game pass ? I mean, obviously, it will bring new players datas, but with the game on gamepass, Sony will have access to datas they would not have had access any other way.
It had me questionning that move, which might be strategic for Sony after all. Xbox has thought about that too before signing the deal, for sure, but what if ? What if Sony is thinking about the game pass business model right now and trying to figure it out for their own platform ? Whaddya think people ? Is it too far fetched ?
I think the toxic reaction to MLB The show must have xbox team walking on egg shells because they don’t want that type of reaction from xbox fans.

Pls stop… Xbox fans reactions are pretty tame. I mean, it’s pretty funny to see a Sony exclusive going in game pass. How do you think PS fans would have reacted with Gears or Forza going multiplat ?
